2014 One Inch Per Month Challenge

Hi Lori, I've checked a couple youtube tutorials and I think I like the fishtail best - I'm still very new with braids so the standard 3-strand is still hard for me to do as I always end up having the middle strand either much thicker or thinner than the outside two. Fishtail lets me be as messy as I want which is awesome, haha. However, I tried to make one fishtail on the side and didn't like how the back of my hair looked. Next time, I'll try doing two braids and see whether I like it enough to wear it all day.

I also got my vitamins in the mail today, which is super exciting! I didn't remember to measure my hair before my inversion week, so I'll be waiting to measure until next month... I also plan to get the Goosefootprint test in order to really learn how to take care of my hair

I wanna propose something. I've been reading up on the ghe method and was thinking of trying it. Anyone here up for a challenge within our challenge? For one month from the 1st february to 3rd march we use this method at least 3 times a week and see whether the growth hype rings true?

Don't worry Jengo- that happens to me sometimes and I've been braiding since I was a kid. The mismatched sections I mean (Lori).

I wouldn't say it has made more growth but when I don't do it I have more tangles. So in the long run, I think it's more of a retention thing. I didn't think to measure before stsrting this but I think it'd be worth testing out.

Also: how is everyone doing with the rules that they set for themselves. I think I'm going to print mine off or save them on my computer, bc at this current moment I can only remember drinking water and eating right lols. I was thinking about diffusing so I wouldn't have to go to bed with wet hair tonight, and pulled out my sisters diffuser attachment only to find that it had a thin layer of dust! I had to clean it, and it's still dirty, so looks like it's a wet hair night.

My hair isn't very thick, although it once was (like 10 years ago) and this is why I'm asking about the biotin and silica. Does anyone here have an experience with them? Do they work to that end?

Today I did a low poo, protein leave in, and sealed with lots of avocado oil. Its been really cold here so I wanted a thick oil. I braided my hair as I was a bit tired of the two strand twists.

I had a lot less shedding since the hard protein treatment, but I did find that the protein leave in makes my hair look very much like a blow out slight press. I am also pleased that I had only like one or two tangles.

Tucked my hair up and away yesterday. Pros: my ends aren't rubbing on the collars of my coats, the twisting cream I got in a Keracare travel set as a present works well, and to go out this morning I only had to remove my scarf. Cons: I miss my hair being out, I did a horrible job making my parts in the places I couldnt see, and my head looks weird to me.

Ok so starting my ghe challenge on the 1st of february. Also gonna start using this all natural line I stumbled upon. The reviews seem really good and I'm in need of good moisturising products. Plus I just wanted to try the LCO method to see if it works better for me. The name of the line is Anu Naturals and the ingredients for anyone who's interested are:

Just Water: Distilled water, aloe vera juice, rose water, green tea, botanical blend with conditioning properties and it's naturally scented.

Just oil : shea oil, sunflower oil, carrot seed oil, almond oil, grapeseed oil, castor oil and flax seed oil.

Vanilla Cupuacu Hair Lotion : water, cupuacu butter, cocoa butter, shea butter over infusions, emulsifying agents, carrot seed oil, aloe vera oil, essential oil blend and jojoba oil.

The ingredients of these products are what caught my attention. Can't wait for the kit to reach! Here's one of the reviews I watched and the company website: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_gQwyJwgcI , http://www.anunaturals.com/Products.html

Thinking of booking my first hair cut of the year soon! I haven't had it cut since October 4th, so I think I'm due for a trim. Trying to decide on whether to do it in February or wait until March. I kind of want to wait as long as possible since this will be my first proper curly cut since getting all of my straight ends chopped off.

I'm definitely doing a dry cut but I'm still really worried they'll cut too much off and ruin all of my progress. I'm such a huge baby lol.
Allie

3A with some 3B thrown in. Medium porosity. High density. Low-medium thickness.
