I love Fauxhawks! I use a banana clip to do mine. I also saw naptural's tutorial, i thought it was just a cute and fun Idea. I hope yours turn out nicely when you have time to do them.

I've got a break from May 5th to May 19th when summer classes start, so I'll put up pictures of the headbands. I've determined that I WILL do it during that time, lols.

CG since November 2013.

Pre-Poo: Coconut Oil overnight, or a greek yogurt mixture
Shampoo: Curls Cleanser and/or clarifier
Conditioner: trying out different Suave Naturals conditioners and GVP's leave-in conditioner at the moment
Styler: iagirl's super smooth flax curl cream. <3
PT: iagirl's gelatin treatment 3-4 times a month
DT: conditioner or yogurt base with honey and oil if the conditioner has none.
I took a picture at the 2nd month, and dang my hair grows fast! I took the picture with my tablet and keep forgetting to either get it on my computer or on here. I'll post another set of pictures when I am able.

I need a trim, but I'm trying to go as long as I can without one. At first it was hard to go from trimming every 4-6 weeks to trimming every 3 months. Now I'll be lucky if I'll ever get a trim again.

Haven't been doing the coconut oil pre-poos and massages w/ oil as much, because I don't have the time. I still do massages in the shower with my head upside down while I shampoo. They feel good and I can feel my scalp and fingers tingle, so I know it's doing something. I think regular massages have been helping a ton.

Hey everyone! It's been a while since I've checked in but I guess I've had some progress... I'm having trouble loading pictures due to size, but I can definitely see some length and can feel it getting heavier

I haven't been able to due the inversion technique for a while but still take vitamins twice a day and have been doing regular protein and deep conditioning treatments.

I plan to do a search-and-destroy session later this week, and will hopefully have some pictures to show!

@sixelamy, I'm glad I saw your post. My scalp was a little dry and I couldn't figure out at first what was going on. I haven't done a heavy coconut oil pre-poo with a good massage in awhile. I was experimenting with oil amounts to see if I could get away without using shampoo afterwards. Now I have found out that if my hair isn't saturated it just doesn't have as nice of an effect so I really need to slather it on and do massages. I've also started doing random massages with my finger tips. It's so soothing when I'm feeling stressed, but even nice when someone else does it.

I found a picture from December or January, and I want to do a side by side comparison of my length then and now. Anyone know how to make those side by side comparison photos?

If you don't have photoshop, you can look for pizap on google. It's an online based photo editor where you can do collages, it has a side by side option, then just download after you're done. I use it a lot and love it.

Can you manage to rinse out well after the heavy oil massages?

Ive tried and the lowpoo just wont do it, and hair looks so dirty I need to wash twice at least, so ive stoped
If I'm in doubt about it I do a longer scalp massage/scrub with the low-poo, smooth it out down the length of my hair, and let it sit for a bit before I rinse completely. In a hurry one morning, I skipped the low-poo and just used my clarifying shampoo. That worked well also without having to wait. Anytime I do coconut oil I always apply the shampoo to my lengths too.

When I tried to do a coconut oil treatment that wasn't overnight, I did have to shampoo twice though.

your hair really grows fast!!!

How is it looking curly?

im at the point that the cut is exactly in a wave crest, if that makes sense, so I look terrible, in a week it should get back to reasonable when the cut grows away the peak.

(Good thing I got hair toys so I dont obssess too much.)
It's looking a bit better curly than it was when I first got it cut. The only thing I don't like about it is the curls in front are way shorter than the rest so it's like a little shelf in front. The bottom is getting longer so it's *just* starting to form a wide curl in back. Mostly I'll wash my hair before bed and just wear it wavy in the morning - it's easier and seems to look a bit more "even".

I know what you mean about your hair length, isn't that annoying? It'll soon pass!

Looking good everyone!

I'm slowly getting back into running, getting more consistent with yoga, and helping my sister train for her first 5k! I'm finally feeling normal exercise wise!

Though that's not the point of coming to post, lols. Yesterday was hot and I thought I'd try turning two sections into one ponytail to see if I had gained enough length during my workout. I CAN DO IT, yay with just one tiny hunk of my tight curls by my ear and tendrils at my nape which look fine. I'll still have to see if it works on hair that doesn't desperately need washing though- I hadn't washed since Friday so it was a bit gunky. I'll try it maybe tomorrow or Friday since I pre-pooed last night and I'm washing today.

I guess I also technically need to readdress my goal length of a curly ponytail. I'd like to have enough length to have a longer ponytail (in one section), and enough to make a bun/topknot.

I think the another good way for this to be effective is protective styling

Speaking only for myself, I can tell you that I prefer not to do protective styling because I love my natural curls and don't want to hide what I just found out was hidden on my head ~2 years ago.
