Progress! *Dances*

Okay, so I FINALLY feel like my hair is getting back on track. It seemed to have had a bit of a growth spurt in the last couple of days and I think I'm finally hurdling over that plateau.

Also, side note: I'm currently rocking very decent third day hair for the first time in what feels like ages. Think my hair is lapping up these Faith in Nature conditioners or something, I don't know!

It always amazes me how much shrinkage curly hair can get, especially the tighter curls. How do you stretch it? I always blow dry mine, but stretching would be better.

I haven't done them close enough to get it completely straight ever- I get too lazy.

I've been contemplating doing more stretched out styles so that was supposed to be the beginning of one, that ended up just straight, lol.

Nice to see everyone's hair is turning around if they've had issues. Not to mention everyone's hair doing its thing. Still doing the waiting game lol.
My hair is a lot healthier after that cut but I'm still shedding globs. I'm starting to think its just seasonal or something.

I have a trim scheduled for next month. I need layers something bad, my hair is so thick!

What's weird to me is to feel my hair fall onto my back when I turn my head and turn it back.

What are some weird things you gals are noticing now that your hair is longer?

Yesterday was the first day of Fall classes- I was so super excited, lols. I'm not even a student anymore but I love the chance for new beginnings. I had been on break for about 3 weeks and forcing my hair to go a little longer between washes- the shedding has gotten a little scary though. Maybe it IS seasonal but still.

Among other news, I also finally had a tangle that I couldn't un-knot. I had to cut it out. Well ok, I maybe could have gotten it out but I just didn't have enough patience. Tons of conditioner, even tried using the eye end of my smallest needle to try to find the middle which was when I gave up.

Lastly, longer hair doesn't flatten out on the sides as much into a mohawk. I'm more able to fluff and go (hence able to go longer between washes too, hmm)! =)

I also can't see when going down stairs. I have to hold my hair out of my face.

I straightened my hair again today. I was talking with my supervisor and she commented on how long it's getting. Squee!

Just measured my hair in my ponytail today. I have about 4 more inches to go to be able to donate my hair! So that means I have about 6 more months to go. Exciting!

You guys.. I can't stand my hair much longer!! Especially when it's straight. It won't stay out of my face! And I keep eating it with every bite of food. I either wear it down, or up in a ponytail or faux bun. I want cute styles, but it's at an awkward length where it's too short for braids, and too long to wear completely down. Any ideas?

@sixelamy Have you tried doing like pin curls or rag curls? You can take the curls and squash them against your head in their natural curly shapes (almost like a plop) and pin them. I think it looks really cute/retro.

Hmm I've never tried that. I kinda like it, thanks! I like messy looks with my hair off my neck. I may try this soon on a night I'm not going out.

Yeah and you can make faux Betty Paige style things with your "bangs" (if you dont have any, experiment with different parts and using a round brush to shape your curls in a cute swooshy/ringlety coil) etc. You can even make cute print bandanas with that Rosie the Riveter kind of bandana look. Its super cute, easy, versatile, and can keep your hair off your neck.

I had a bit of a setback. I had to trim. But I havent colored sinc Feb and I have about 5-6 inches of growth.

I went back to shampoo diluted with water and now I am just leaving my conditioner in and sealing with oil. I am also wearing ghana plaits. I still cant figure out how to tie the ends though...

Hey! It's been a while since I've done a length check and so now I'm going to post the results from my latest one to see how my hair is growing!

Middle/Top: I went from 10.5 inches (6-21-14) to 12 inches
Front: I went from 9.5 inches (6-21-14) to 10.5 inches
Back: I went from 7 inches (6-21-14) to 8.5 inches

Yay! Okay, this seems to be going fairly well. I've been doing a lot of scalp massages over the last couple of months, so that may contribute to my growth, but it's still not enough to reach 12 inches in 12 months... *sigh*
