OK I am at that point again where I am considering a short hair cut

I don't know why I always do this! I get it cut shorter and like it but miss the versatility of long hair and grow it out. It has now been 9 months since my deva cut and am thinking of an inverted bob but I don't know. I am sure I'll miss the ability to do a quick updo etc.

How about just a deva trim?

Disclaimer: I am new to being a curly girl.

I saw some recent pics you posted in another thread and your length looks like a great versatile length (and it looks healthy and beautiful).

For my recent first ever curly cut the stylist kept my length (7 months of growing out a verrrry short style) but took out a lot of weight. It wound up being totally "new" if that makes sense.

Maybe something like that would satisfy your urge for a cut.

Have fun.

i am on the fence about this too.I get in that mode where my hair is so long its hard to take care of and it takes forever to dry so i wanna cut it, but when i cut it short i miss the long hair and dont feel pretty. I am getting a deva cut soon or maybe something with layers or bangs just to do something different with my hair.
I get like this all the time when I take too long to get a trim, and I lose shape, etc. I get it cut short and regret it, because I know if I had just gotten a trim, I would've been happy.

If you have doubts, just get a trim at first. If you're still not satisifed, you can always tell them to go shorter.

Whatever you decide to do, just wanna let you know that so far I'm enjoying my inverted bob. The pieces being longer in the front has definite styling advantages. What appeals to you about an inverted bob, as opposed to other cuts you've had? I'd also be happy to answer any questions you might have about versatility of styles from my experience so far with my cut

You may also take into account your face shape. Mine is round, so basically I don't look my best with one length super-curly short hair. I look better with long hair in layers, it makes my face look longer.
Yes, I finally reached the point (after almost a year) that I decided the hair must go. It's gotten too thin to wear long, or an updo, so I feel I ultimately do best with short hair. But I know the feeling....for the past couple of days I look in the mirror and think...maybe I should have just gotten a bob. What I got was a pixie. I have gotten a few compliments, though, so.......(sigh).....I'll get used to it. BTW, those of you who have posted hair pics -- you're all lovely.
This is a weekly struggle for me. Lol. I have a bad hair day and want to get it all chopped off, but then I remind myself that I don't really want to do that because I like being able to pull it up if needed. I almost went and got it all chopped off, bu realized that wouldn't look good on me. So now, I've resolved myself to just getting it trimmed now and then. Either way, I tell them to keep my length in the front and just cut it shorter and layer it in the back. I feel like I really just need it re-shaped more than anything. My hair tends to grow into one length, especially in the back. So, I go every 2-3 months to get it trimmed and re-layered. I find that this keeps me happy and helps me keep my length. Maybe you should try getting a little trimmed off and adding some layers and see if you like that before cutting too much off? Best of luck! =)

To OP,

I have done many many different curly and not so curly styles throughout the years. And while I generally come back to, "I want my hair long why won't you grow?!". I have finally had an ephipany that maybe long hair isn't for me. I finally grew mine down to mid back, and honestly, it's a big hot mess.

I shed hair like I'm a bear in summer. It knots easily. I never have "a style." I'm always pulling it back into a bun or ponytail. I feel like I'm going to be smothered in my sleep by it. It itches my face, my neck, etc.

So do what makes you happy...donate it if possible...I'm at the point now where I could get a bob and donate 8 inches as per the Beautiful Lengths agreement for donations. So you do something nice for yourself and others. :-)
And if you want, here's my album that has my different hairstyles throughout the past few years.

Thank you! That's very nice of you to say! I've really been wanting to get my pixie again despite the awful grow out period, but I keep echoing the haters in my head that say that I don't have the cheekbones for it. Plus, I've put on weight since my last pixie, so my face is chubbier (i.e.- first picture in the album was a few weeks ago for Christmas). I think I would totally do it if I was thinner like before. But heck, I may do it anyways. I'm all about easy these days lol.

Maybe you can try that instead of going as short? Either way, I think you have the face for it! Super cute on you!

Fluffy01 I like the picture in the middle of the third row, with the white shirt and your hair longer. I think it looks very well on you!
