Aveda Elixir being discontinued!

My SO was in the Aveda store last week purchasing his usual supply of Elixir and to his horror was told that Aveda was discontinuing Elixir. Since then he has been wondering what product he will be able to find to replace his beloved Elixir. Does anyone know a product that is similar to Elixir that he would be able to use? Thanks.
Oh man, that sucks.

I just saw on their website that they are discontinuing a bunch of products that they've been making for well over 20 years now. So I guess this isn't a huge surprise. It's a shame. Elixir is one of my old favorites, I go back to it again and again.

There are products kind of like Elixir. The first thing I would try is using a really light conditioner as a leave-in. Because that's essentially what Elixir is.
Biolage Defining Elixir. I've never used the one by Aveda but I liked the Biolage.
I just started using this again so it figures they're discontinuing it. I hope the gel is at least here to stay that I use.
I can't say that I've used anything quite like this. Spray leave in's come closest to the consistency.

I used Aveda Elixir & I believe I was told ABBA Nourishing is a better replacement, so I bought it & haven't looked back since.
Liz is it as light as the elixir? I need to check ingredients on that one. Ya know I need my aloe.
I was breaking this one in for a summer leave in dang it

I think Nourishing's as light as Elixir, if not the same thickness. It's not thick like Elucence. I like how easily it's spread through the hair.

Key Ingredients: Botanical Infusion of Passiflora Incarnata (Passion Flower), Arnica Montana, Prunus Virginiana (Cherry Bark), Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary), Cetyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Cetrimonium Bromide, Glycerin (Coconut), Lupin Amino Acids (150mw), Hydrolyzed Soy Protein (1000mw), Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein (2000mw), Hydrolyzed Wheat Starch (Plant), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Aloe Barbadensis Gel, Algin, Benzophenone-3, Citric Acid (Fruit), Methylparaben (Food Grade Preservative), Imidazolidinyl Urea, ABBA's Aromatherapy Fragrance
Thanks for the ingredients, it does have aloe in there at the end.
Dang it I already bid on some elixir. I'm going to try the nourish as soon as I can though. The ingredients look nice, not even a water soluble cone to worry about.

It contains algin too:
Algin Sodium alginate, an important part of the kelp plant, is mucilaginous and gels in water
You're not worried about the proteins in the Nourishing?
My leave in now has soy protein.
I'm hoping the proteins in nourishing aren't overload.

I'm going to guess not since they're in the middle.
After my elixir is gone I'll give the nourishing a try. I'm sure hopeful.
