Default Optimal Dry Time- Is it just me?

I have worked long and hard to perfect my hair routine and I think I finally did it. One part of my routine is blow drying to add volume, but I don't just blow dry it whenever. My hair has to be at a certain dryness level when I put the dryer on it. If it is too wet or too dry, it turns out frizzy. I get laughed at by my dad and sister because it's almost like doing my hair has become a science. I need "optimal dry time" for my hair. Does this apply to anyone else or is it just me?

No, not just you. I wash my hair then leave it to dry before diffusing it completely dry. An hour of air drying is optimal for me, a bit more or a bit less depending on the season/weather. It took a lot of trial and error to figure out what works and that's what I stick with, if people laugh so be it!
