Morning hair - before & afters

Like Tree156Likes

No pic's to share at this time but when mine reaches a good length it typically looks the same as it did when I went to bed. When it is short, that is a completely different ball game. I wake up looking like I was visited by an 80's hair band in my slumber.

When I hear terms like "hipster" I think, who told cliques they could leave high school??

Out of pineapple (gives volume. That's about it but also cooler to sleep in. ) styled but not SOTC and SOTC. Spritzed down length and SCEFSG and SCEHHG raked & scrunched in and diffused.

My routine is simple -- before bed, I flip my head upside down, stretch open the band of my sleep cap and pull it over my hair.

When I get up in the morning, first I laugh at how ridiculous my hair looks when I take the cap off. Then I slide my hands under my hair (by the nape of my neck) and fluff it up, then rearrange any stray strands. If I have a particularly wonky piece of hair, I'll wet it with water and scrunch it into place. Generally, though, I just take the cap off and fluff my hair.

The pictures are: Cap on; right after cap comes off (one of my cats decided to join me at this point); and after my hair is settled into place. The slightly maniacal smile is because we're in the midst of our eleventy-millionth Winter Storm Watch here in Illinois, with 4-8 inches of snow predicted.

It does look like an awesome sleep cap! The one I have (which I rarely use) is just a regular bonnet - but I like the secure-looking band Wendy's one has!!

I think we all have a problem with thinking our hair looks bad when others may not agree. I'm going to try harder not to put myself down and to try and see the good in every hair day. We curlies need to stop being so hard on ourselves!

Side note: come on girls, let's keep this thread going! It's great seeing everyone's transformations and how they achieve second-day / third-day hair etc.

A 2C, hopefully something more as my hair gets redefined. Lots of chemical/heat damage to get rid of! Currently at shoulder length, aiming for mid-back.

(Any HtBlack you find anywhere on the internet is most likely always moi! :3)
