I don't see loads of frizz. I see nicely defined curls.
I have seen somewhere that they say we are the hardest judges when it comes to ourselves.

So as I feared my scalp became oily, that was the reason I stopped cg last time . Now that seemed to happen right away after my massive trim or it could be a considence. I did changed/added some things on the routine.

Last Friday I changed the way I wash my hair. I started with my detangler on all the lenght of my hair, some might touched my scalp too mehh, and continued with my co-wash and introduced a new heavy rich hair mask (Ingredients:Aqua, cetaryl alcohol, glycerin, oleic/linoleic/linolenic, polyglycerides, behentrimonium chloride, mel, butyrospermum parkii butter, cinnamic acid, levulinic acid, sodium levulinate, lecithin, glyceryl caprylate, isopropyl alcohol, ceteareth-20, polyglyceryl-3, diisostearate, glyceryl stearate, xanthan gum, sodium phytate, citric acid, sodium benzoate, parfum, alpha-isomethyl ionone, benzyl salicylate, butylphenyl methylpropional, coumarin, hexyl cinnamal, CI 15985, CI 19140)

The last time my hair was frizzy but this time my hair is genuine oily. All lengh is extremely shiny and also my roots are flaten. The curl patern is way too wiry and the same strand curls in 2 different directions.
Some days ago I used a new styler that it was obvious my hair hated. It was the Shockwaves Massive Wonder Wax (Ingredients: peg-12, peg 60, lanolin, peg-25 hydrogenated castor oil, parfum, hexyl cinnamal, tocopherol, amyl cinnamal, linalool, CI 15510)

Also is it possible that I experience build-up from Trisiloxane that is on my leave in treatment? I know the solubility of that cone is unknown right?

I think you need far more patience, and to stop trying numerous new things all in the same week. One at a time, see what works. You had really pretty defined hair in your photo from last week so you were on the right track.

You have been bleaching your hair which will cause damage, and have been disguising that with a lot if silicones and polyquats. Now you have healthy virgin roots which sadly may not like the same treatment as your over processed ends. It's s challenge to keep two completely different hair types happy.

I would suggest you start researching ingredients: you are complaining if greasiness and weighed down hair yet using butters, waxes (eg cetyl esters, lanolin), oils and silicones. Try using more of the major emollients (fatty alcohols/ cationic surfactants) and treatment ingredients (penetrating oils as pre wash, ceramides, 18-MEA, panthenol) as well as protein in moderation.

Instant gratification comes from commercial silicone laden products, Curly Girl is about *slowly* working towards healthier better conditioned and defined hair. Hair is dead or cannot regenerate or heal itself, so severe damage needs tone grown or cut out.

I apreciate every piece of advice given and I know it may seems as I want something fast to make my hair as I want but it's not that. I just doubt that I myself did something wrong on the process not that it doesn't work. As I said I ordered the book but it will be here on the 10th and without it I am the worst noob ever. I tried to add more moisture as I fear of losing my hair because of the diet. I changed the way I eat paying very little to know amount on the calories I eat. I just fear so I try to identify what I am doing wrong or if I should relax a bit.

A lot of the posters on this thread have given you advice which they themselves took years to find out.

So re-read the thread again and again using the main site and the web to look up things you aren't sure about.
I did and I read about Trisiloxane water solubility and I was worried that I was using a cone. In that case I don't want to use a strong sulfate if I don't really have to.

Hair is dead and yours is damaged by bleach, its not miraculously going to be perfect overnight.

You are not the worst noob ever just ready to learn. Research ingredients: read the 'curl chemist' articles here on NC, Natural Haven blog, Sciencey Hairblog. Also read other threads around the boards and retread this thread. I have a science background yet I still often read articles or studies several times before it all sinks in.

Silicones are suffix -cone, -conol, -xane I think you have used more than just the one. Silicones are not the devil, like I already said other ingredients build up. You don't need sulphates to clarify, you can use olefin sulfonates or cocoamidopropyl betaine.

You add moisture (= water) every time you wash your hair. Actually that temporarily weakens hair it doesn't make it healthier. You need more conditioning with the ingredients already listed not more moisturising.

I hope you don't mind me asking what is the difference between moisture and condition? Would a protein treatment help as my hair is porous from colouring or it would make my hair worse?

The word moisture means water, so moisturising is adding or increasing water. Water does soften hair, especially coarse, by breaking structural bonds and weakening it. It also swells the cuticle. This is potentially damaging (hygral fatigue) its not necessarily healthy for hair. Damaged and porous hair already takes up too much moisture, it does not necessarily need more.

Conditioning is using ingredients that are commonly found in conditioners. These primarily confer emollience, patch repair damage, sometimes penetrate, protect hair from further damage, aid detangling, etc. so they can make your hair look and feel nice but also maintain its health and improve how it behaves. This is especially important in damaged hair, ingredients can mimic list components of healthy hair.

Emollience is largely softness, also slip and shine. It's probably the cosmetic attribute most people want when they think they want moisturising. You will see me talk about the major emollients (fatty alcohols/ cationic surfactants) which are the basic ingredients in a creamy conditioner. But other ingredients like natural oils, waxes, butters and silicones have emollient properties, and these are NOT moisturising, they actually repel water.

Some conditioning ingredients do have humectant properties (water attracting ingredients) so they can help hair hold the right amount of water. So whilst there is sometimes overlap moisturising and conditioning are not one and the same.

Some people do think its just word play/ semantics, I think its Important to be clear - otherwise we are looking for the wrong family of ingredients in our products that actually is not going to give us healthier and better behaved hair.

So after reading your explanation I wanted to try and identify what might works and what won't so I used my low-poo to revive my roots. It did tangle the length of my hair though and caused me some frizz. I also skipped my leave in cream and the almond oil I use as sealing. I will introduce each one separated on the next wash. This is what I got.

So I was observing the hairball I shed earlier and as you might noticed I said shed because I noticed they have almost 90% a white bulb at the end. Is this amount too much?

When you detangle the amount of hair you lose will vary.

So in one session you may lose a lot of hair while if you detangle the next day you may lose less hair or more hair.

If however you detangled your hair every couple of days or less then you will lose a lot more hair than if you detangled your hair daily.

In other words the amount of hair you lose when you detangle will vary daily and from person to person.

If you are getting bald patches or notice thinning then you are losing too much hair for you.

I have a question. When there is obvious frizz on your dry hair how do you reverse it without jump in the shower and cowash? Also does happens to others to have bad hair when it comes to definition after low-poo?

I can't tell enough how happy I am. I did some research on Trisiloxane as I feared it would build up. It seems it washes out easily. My hair dry or wet loves the leave in that has trisiloxane. I managed to tame frizz without re wetting!!! I am sooooooo happy. Planning on making my own FSG but looking for a good recipe yet.

It seems the happiness will exist for more. I thought I should give low poo another chance. It did made the lenght of hair dry and puffy so I thought why use it there? Maybe only on scalp would work, So before my wash today previously I did a deep treatment. As I had read on another topic, Firefox must have said it if I recall, coconut oil is good for porous hair but it needs many hours to penetrate the hair shaft. I did a combo of almond oil, EVOO and coconut oil. Also I did another thing I read. I did the ponytail technique but because I have very short layers on top I did 2 ponytails on my head, MARVELOUS, INOVATIVE IDEA!! I did heat up the oils a bit though as I have tried it on the past and it seemed to work better. I left it for maybe 16 hours( I have a lot of free time in the house lol). Before I even wash, when I was letting the hair down my hair was so slippery!! I detangled first as I knew if I used low poo it would dry my hair so I used my detangler as a coater. Everytime I applied anything instead of smoothing it I scrunch it in which seemed to make my hair absorb it better or maybe it's my assumption as it felt smoother. Then used my LI and loaded a new gel with softer hold. Canopy has a bit of frizz but maybe it's the lack of technique after ploping that mess with my part and I have to change the way the curls lay. I diffused a bit so I won't touch my hair while they are drying-I know such a bad habbit!!!

Keypoints I love!!!

1)I detangled and lost like a pea sized amount of hair only

2)My curls are so defined yet I have volume on my roots!!

So I am gonna stick with the same routine but I do worder will oils build up on the length of hair if I don't low poo that part as well? Let's hope second hair is not bad.

Does anyone have ideas as how to keep the curls for second day? I don't want to braid as it gives me only waves.

Some pictures from earlier.

Omg today was the worst washing of my whole life. I did my normal prepoo again with a combo of oils. Hair felt smooth before wetting. After wetting it was like I had used sulfate shampoo. So dry that my detangled did nothing. I felt.my hair very rough and tangled everywhere. I was keep adding condish. As I thought my hair was already dry I didn't want to use low poo and continued with co-wash. Oh my it was even worse. The.more I applied conditioners the.more dried was getting. I shed very much like if i was using normal shampoo what the hell I did wrong???
