So I think my eh relationship with gel might be because of the haircut I gave myself. My hair has weird short pieces and is thinned so the gel foesnt look good in it. It's just a weird gut. I used a lot of gel when I first started CG and it made my hair look messy. I'm gonna try this too now that my hair is longer using a puddle of gel for my hair, just popped over to Target for some LA Sport (got the last bottle!) and am gonna do it after my next wash. I'm gonna also invest in a diffuser when I get the chance. Seems the girls who get the best, natural looking hair use one. I don't mind a little frizz, Carrie didn't I'm just so scared of heat because of what it does to my ends and it always ends up ruining my growth efforts after just one blow dry.

If you do it Brit I'm gonna do it because you're totally one of my hair crushes lol.

I tried my hair with more gel and more scrunching today and I like it! Although I think I am just a chronic hand in the hair person because no matter what I end up with some surface frizz.

FYI the gel thing did not work out for me... omg.

I don't know if this is natural curl or not, but I've had this on my desktop for forever labeled as my hair goal. I pretty much have quadruple that amount of hair though.

I don't know why I'm trying to reinvent the wheel. I already found something I love and does everything I need. It's like I get nervous thinking I'm not doing enough and my hair could always look better. But I just gotta keep it simple. Back to the BB.

I wish I had tighter curls, it seems like things come easier to those with 3c-ish. Mine pull out so easily

I would love tighter curls too. 3B hair all over would be grand for me.

It's so funny how we fought our curls for so long and now we're all desperate for our hair to be as curly as possible!

"Curls aren't just for girls"
Well if we're talking about ideal hair I'm assuming we mean.... hair that is like ours but better, ideal... rather than what we consider ideal hair in general. Because I have a pinterest board now for natural hair and MY GOODNESS there is so much ideal hair going on there... and it's mostly 4 & 3 for me. But my hair will always be a 2, so my ideal version my 2 hair would be fellow wavy riccicapricci... aka shalimarcat on youtube. I know she does a lot of different things with her hair but if I had her curls and waves I would never stretch or straighten them ever ever they look amazing! I LOVE her density. Serious envy.

Why haven't I read this thread earlier? This is so much fun!

As far as my own hair goes, this is close to my ideal hair:

I like my hair best when it is well-defined and when I have a big bush of chunky curls and a few ringlets. I would like my underlayers to be more curly but in general, if I'd have this hair every day, then I'd be the happiest camper.

Although I must say that I miss the amount of hair and volume I have in this picture:

This was during a dance performance in 2008. We had our hair braided the evening before and I cannot remember putting much effort in my ponytail the next morning. All pre-CG.

One of the things I miss right now is how well my ponytail used to look when I was mod CG. This is in Parc Güell, Barcelona. That morning I had put my dry hair in a ponytail, then wet the tail part with my spray bottle before combing it with a wooden brush. Then I scrunched in one pump of TIGI Bed Head Foxy Curls Contour Cream and let it air dry. Unfortunately this stuff has silicones and polyquats in it. I did use CG low poo and conditioner by ABBA back then, but I wasn't aware that my styler was not CG. I loved that stuff and I just love how natural my hair looks and the volume!

As for curl crushes, I just love the way Vanessa Marano's curls look, though I'm never sure if they're her own.

Oh, and AnnaLynne McCord's curls!

If only I could achieve that! But so far my good days have been accidental. Pre-CG I knew what to expect - now it's either hit or miss and I don't even know why most of the time.
