'normal' rinse-out conditioner? Or a special 'deep treatment' or 'hair masque'? Do you add extra stuff, like honey or oil?

Right now I'm doing a DT and I used SM restorative conditioner and added coconut oil.

Usually I use that or SM anti breakage masque.
I'm only adding coconut oil because my hair was recently dyed and I'm trying to revive my curls.

Experimenting with: benign neglect
First I pre-poo with coconut oil, which is a treatment in itself. Then for the deep conditioning bit I will always use a special deep conditioning mask.

Occasionally I've experimented with homemade deep conditioning treatments, like honey with egg and yoghurt etc. But a standard deep conditioner is so much easier, a lot less fuss & mess, and actually I prefer the effect it has on my hair.

I'm really liking Sevi Pumpkin Seed deep conditioner. I also like Darcy's Botanicals Pumpkin Seed conditioner. You don't need one labeled "deep conditioner". Anything rich will suffice.

Currently I am using Loreal Total Damage Erasing Balm. My other DT favorites are the GVP Conditioning Balm from Sally's and Queen Helenes cholesterol.

Usually DT are very thick. So any thick conditioner you like could be used.

Methods: Wet plop or pineapple at night, diffuse in the morning. Scrunch w/joboba, coconut or almond oil.
I normally use a rich conditioner to DT, but tonight I decided to make a little concoction of greek yoghurt, honey, olive oil and coconut oil. I've never gone down the homemade DT-road before, but if it has a good effect on my hair, I'm thinking about doing that more regularly, especially since it's going to cost me way less than slathering on actual conditioner every time I DT (which is one a week).

We'll see in the morning, I'm plopping right now (for another half hour), and then I'll put on my silk hair cap so my hair really won't be fully dry until the morning.
