Is this happening when you hair is wet? I was just getting on here to post a similar thread. I cannot get the knots out of my hair. I'll comb them all out then it all knots back up again.
3A 3B mix

Lo-Poo- As I am Shampoo, Shea Moisture Moisture Retention
Co-wash- Suave Ocean Breeze, As I Am Co-wash
RO-GVPCB, CJ curl assurance conditioner
DT- CJ curl rehab
LI- As I Am leave in,

Style- Sauve Everlasting Sunshine
Could be kinking and/ or different coarseness and/ or damage (likely on canopy but not so much at the roots).

Are you letting the troublesome section get sun damaged or beaten down on by a power shower?

Power shower = fast/ hard flow or higher pressure, that can damage or tangle hair. Also long regular showers might do the same. Hard water can make hair dry and brittle over time: solution is to use a chelating shampoo.

You should ideally be working with your hair properties (porosity, elasticity, coarseness) when choosing products/ ingredients, if you aren't confident what they are consider a microscope hair analysis.

You can send hair from your crown in a separate baggie if you wish. Services are available from Komaza Care and Goosefootprints on Etsy.

You can send your hair sample from the Netherlands, I have no idea how fast or slow your mailing system is because I am in the UK.

Not aware of any need for a specific water temperature, its more general water exposure that can be damaging AFAIK. There is a mini experiment on the Sciencey Hairblog that you might find useful.

Dilute vinegar rinses may help reduce build up of minerals but may well not be sufficient to shift existing build up (chelate).

I am prone too tangling in my crown too. For some reason it's just THICK right there. My little sister is the same way.

My hairdresser said its not uncommon for curly hair to do that. So I use extra conditioner and finger detangle really slowly and work through small sections to avoid breakage. I also use extra product there when I do finger coils!

I have no issues with pineapple. I have layers so I clip the back section so it can't tangle up. Usually those spots need a little extra water in the morning when I shake it out. It's trial and error really.. It gets a lot easier and you train your hair
