Default How to reuse old styling products w/ cones and alcohol?

I found some very old stylers, sprays, gels and creams containing cones and/or denaturated alcohol.

Do you have suggestions/ideas how to reuse them for other purposes?

The sprays can probably be used for preserving art projects and flowers.

What about a mousse? I never knew what to do with those...

You could try donating them to a women's shelter. Someone might very much appreciate it.

EDIT: Oops, that's not re-using them, like you asked about.

Thank you for the ideas. I already found an idea for gels: use them as eyebrow gels (unless your skin doesn't like it)

Any other ideas? (also for mousse reusing as mentioned)

Is there anybody you can give it to? I like the idea of donation. I don't think there would really be a use for mousse outside of using on the hair... but I could be wrong.

I use the shampoos for washing dishes and general cleaning. The conditioners I use for shaving.

My friends and family LOVE it when I do a purge day (at least yearly) of personal care (and cleaning, etc) products that didn't work for me.

Also, the Salvation Army (and similar charities) typically have a shower that people and need can use and having actual products on hand is a real blessing there.

Also, my "last purge" (a rather large purge---I was moving at the time) went almost entirely to a friend whose home is constantly invaded by teenagers. She appreciated it the crapload, as did they.

Kudos for not throwing them out! Landfills are too full for too-soon waste.

You might want to keep one can of serious hairspray in case you run into a fancy formal hairdo that requires it.

You can also create a bin in your guest bathroom if you have frequent company. Or suggest a "swap day" at work or church or your book club (whatever organizations you belong to).

I use the shampoos for shaving. I also use the shampoos for washing my husband's prosthetic sock thing. It's a gel sock and can't be washed with dishsoap or anything like that, so it's a great purpose for the shampoo.

Edited: If you know anyone who wears a prosthetic leg, you can give them the shampoo for this purpose. We are told to use handsoap but I've always used shampoo instead, very successfully.

All in all, I'm happy with my hair type but almost for sure think yours is prettier.

You may also want to check out the No Waste Challenge thread, there are ideas there for repurposing.
