Dang AIA!

So I bought AIA cowash yesterday super exited to try it and..........

I'm disappointed =[
I don't like the smell, it almost smells like alcohol, and it made my hair dry and straw like! I think it was too much for my hair.
Has this happened to anybody else?

I'm definitely going back to Eden Naturals co wash!

OT: has anybody tried the Eco Styler Moroccan Gel? I picked that up as well since it was in sale.

That is too bad about AIA. I find it to be super hydrating, but it took a few washes for me to really like it.

At least you have something you know that you like and works you!
I found it very heavy for my hair. I was only able to use it once in between low poos, or I'd have a head full of flat curls. However, I don't see how this could make your hair dry, it could be you need to clarify. AIA Cowash is super hydrating and left me over-conditioned with mushy hair on more than one occasion. I'd be inclined to look at your other products. I wish mine would've smelled like alcohol.. mine had a weird fishy type of smell since day 1. I much prefer Eden cowash too! Much lighter.
2c-3a - coarse - normal-high porosity - high density - growing out to donate

NP/LP: KMF Whenever Conditioner/ YTCucs

I love as I am cowash. I used the Eden body works deep condition & it left my hair mushy. As I am doesn't do that to me. I hope you have a good experience with eden body works.

The only products I use besides co wash are Suave Naturals Tropical Coconut and I've been using Beautiful Textures raid repair as a leave in, as for gel when I do use it I use La Bella.

Maybe it too much protein??

Yes. Your hair needs a balance of protein and moisture.
It really is strange how some products affect others one way and another quite differently.

Never tried the AIA cowash, but probably won't considering what I can tell from reviews. I like Eden's cowash but I like it more as a LI than as a cowash. The Suave I like both as a cowash and a LI, but I think I like it as a cowash more. Even aside from that I think I like Eden's Jojoba Deep Conditioner even more as a cowash than the other two, but I really don't like it as a DT or a LI. Eden's Coconut Shea LI is a joke; my hair acts like I didn't put anything on it! My hair must not read labels and could care less about them.

For as much as I like the dual purpose and the price of the Suave I think the Eden products are winning more love from me as time goes by.

As far as AIA products go, my hair and AIA do agree on one thing: Hydration Elation is a fantastic DT.
very fine, normal/high density, high porosity, low/normal elasticity, currently dyed and texlaxed but growing out the relaxed portions.

Dying to cover greys. 33yrs old and my hair's about 40% white. I'm just wanting my hair to go all white at this point. Root for my white hairs! I wanna be all white by the time I'm 40!

My hair loves (in this order) Protein, Protein, Coconut Oil, Protein, Conditioning, oh, and Protein!
I use the AIA cowash and I really like it. I haven't had an issue with it leaving my hair dry. I use it about once a week but it follow it with a conditioner, lately that's been Tresemme Naturals and then my LI. I've never tried the Eden naturals co wash and since I'm almost out of the AIA I might give it a try.

I love the AIA cowash. I follow it with a conditioner (either TN or Trade Joe's). Haven't had any problems!

It doesn't have as much slip as I would like. I can't finger detangle if I use this, which I dislike because then it means I have to detangle with my leave in, except it's hard to apply my leave in because my hair is tangled! I still have half a jar left; not sure if I'll repurchase it in the future...

ETA: I find it hard to distribute, as well.

Low porosity, high density, coarse
