Default Can you recommend a curl enhancer?

I need something to make more curls in this mop of mine. LOL Can you recommend a good curl enhancer or activator? Thanks!

Hi Katina, I would recommend checking this thread out about Garnier Fructis Curl & Shine Leave In Cream, which has given a lot of us curlies tons of curl enhancement.

For me things that enhance curl have peach oil, apricot oil, aloe, glycerin in it. Oh and salt.
REcoil is curl enhancing, Garnier Fructis Curl & Shine leave in, Jessicurl's Aloeba as a leave in (salt and aloe in that one), Aveda flax seed gel (has aloe too), Paul mitchell The conditioner leave in, Beauty without cruelty revitalizing leave in.

My hair isn't the same all over but I do better if I use things in combination that help curl. I use a rinse out conditioner with peach oil, a leave in conditioner with aloe, a gel with aloe and flax or some combination of all those ingredients.

Oh and I diffuse my hair partially dry , that helps the curl and the volume.

I second Re:coil.. also Jessicurls products like RR and CCSS has helped with curl enhancement, theres Boots curl creme that helps , Boots doesnt have alotta hold but u can pair it with a gel.

Thank you!! I think I'll try the garnier fructis first since I can get it locally. The others I would have to get online, I think. Anything else?

I'll second the re:coil and GF C&S. Both, in the right combination, are curl enhancing for me.

I use Jessicurl Gelebration under my regular styler as a curl enhancer. It makes an amazing difference.

Re:coil. It's the only product that I use every day, no matter what other products I'm using.

Do either Re:Coil or GF Curl & shine have proteins in them and are they CG friendly?

Thanks!

The GF C&S has the A cone in it, if you are modified CG and occasionally shampoo it should easily wash out. Re:Coil is totally CG friendly. I think Re:coil has a protein in it but I'm not positive, and I don't know if the other one does.

I recently tried a new product to the Dove line (at least I think it's new, I hadn't seen it before). It's Dove curl cream (not sure of the exact name), and wow, does it work! I am really having good results on my 3A hair with this.

Re:coil, either of the Curl Junkie curl creams, Loreal Out of Bed.....I'm not sure they are fantastically curl enhancing but they do seem to help clump and define my curls which makes them look a lot better!

Does the GF Curl and Shine leave in have hold or do you need to use a gel with it. Also, does it increase curl in wavy hair or just in already curly hair. thanks

I might have to try the GF stuff.

Magnesium sulfate works really well for me, which is in Jessicurl stuff, among others. I've heard some say it's drying for them, but I've never had this problem with it.

I have used other products which encourage clumping in my hair, and therefore sort of indirectly enhance my curls [Re:Coil, Boots]. But for actual increased curl creation, it's Jessicurl for me.

I recommend using a leave in conditioner underneath any product that you use in your hair.

I love the pink boots curl cream the best.
I also love rocking ringlets by jessicurl
re:coil gives me the almost identical results as the pink boots
I love the curl keeper too that you apply over top styling products.

I like the curl junkie line too it has monoi oil in thier products thier banana hibiscus conditioner leave in smells so good.
