Hey curlies,

so i haven't blogged or anything on here in a while. I guess i'm at a point in my hair life where I got things "figured out" and my life is way more simple. I use literally only a handful of products in my hair (about the same ones as before) but my routine takes less time and i my hair is more happy. Here's what I do now, in which i will update in my sig eventually as well.:

Sunday: Deep condition w/Cantu Shea Butter Leave in mixed w/olive oil for however long my laziness lasts that day, on dry hair. Rinse. Wash w/ As I am Coconut Cowash. Condition and detangle with VO5 (whichever one i have at the moment), rinse. Braid my hair in 5-8 braids with SHea Moisture Smoothie.

Rest of the week: Basically wear my hair in the same braidout, re-braiding at night for nightly maintenance and more stretch. If i feel like it, i would co-wash my hair with the VO5 conditioner mid-week and braid it back up again. I unbraid my hair with coconut oil on my hands. I really dont do the whole "sealing" thing any other time. My hair retains enough moisture after Sunday's ordeal I guess.

Anyway yep, prob not much of a difference as before but i think it is. I feel less stressed about my hair and my hair seems to be growing more now that im actually sticking to one routine with the same products. IDK.

Anybody else have very simple routines that you have come to love? Ones that don't require daily washing and styling and things of that nature. I just wonder if i'm the only one. thanks for reading lol

Hey I'm right there with ya! I really am happier with a simple routine. I'm not much of a PJ so I use a few products and my hair is happy! If it gets limp I clarify or add protein. I don't usually have a problem with dryness so I don't DT. Enjoy your simple routine!

I finally figured out how to do my hair in a simpler way that lets it air dry decently and I'm loving not spending the extra time with my diffuser right now.

2c/3a, fine, low porosity.

Poo: Garnier Fructis Pure Clean (yes, it has A Sulfate!!, but I have Teflon hair)
Co-wash (when I feel so inclined, which isn't often!): VO5 Kiwi Lime Clarifying Conditioner
Conditioner/LI:
same for both -- whatever I have in the shower at the time (I experiment a lot)
Style: EcoStyler Olive Oil <3
Dry: Diffuse or air dry, or both...depends on my mood

I'm doing simple right now too. I wash before bed, sometimes diffuse sometimes not. When I diffuse, either my curls are decent in the morning, or I'll dampen my hair a little and go. Most of the time I just wear it wavy and clip the front parts back that are curlier. Shampoo, leave in, and a gel.. that's all for me!

I wash my hair 2-3 times a week, as I've found my hair works best this way. I went 5 days without washing which was a huge success; however the tangles were horrendous and my scalp got itchy/irritated. There is a tiny part of me that is envious of being able to go that long between washes.

I mostly cowash and shampoo whenever my hair feels kind of gunky. I do gelatin protein treatments pretty much weekly, and condition afterwards. I pre-poo with yogurt right before washing, or overnight before washing every week to two weeks depending on my schedule. I let my hair dry a little bit under a t-shirt before I apply products, then I twist it up or clip/secure the hair loosely down in some kind of way for a little bit to show a little more length in my wash and go's. My holy grail of sorts has been flaxseed gel, and using it in iagirl's recipe for super smooth flaxseed cream. My hair stays moist and defined, but not too gunky between washes. The curl cream was what I used with my 5 day stint.

I just bought a diffuser of my own yesterday. The first time I did the twists with clips, I used my sisters diffuser to focus on and dry the roots before undoing the twists. I absolutely loved the results for curl definition without as much shrinkage. Many that amount of text doesn't seem so simplified to me, but it feels simplified when I do it, lol.
3C/4A, fine texture, low-medium density, and low porosity?
