I have 3a chin length bob curly hair. It is color processed but not visibly damaged looking so i get nice shiny soft curls on poo day. I am growing out gray but still alot of colored hair on ends. I do follow cg mostly but i do like to use no poo about three times per week and sometimes will co wash with Suave. I usually do nothing every other day and those are the days that i have rather dry curls. Are tgere any suggestions for something i can put on the ends to help remoisture/soften curls for those no wash/condish days? It cant be an oil, i have slightly thin, easily weighed down hair.
The trick is on the days you wash is to seal in as much moisture as possible. Then when you go to sleep use a bonnet or satin pillow case.

Then on non-wash days either a spritz or mist with water should revive your hair

What leave-in and other products are you using on wash days? - I can't see any signatures as I'm on a phone.
Thank you for replying. I have not populated a sig yet. I use Deva Curl No Poo or Kinky Curly. I use Deva Curl One C as condish on wash days. I have KCNT as a Leave In but only use drops or its too soft. Use Coconut Oil weekly as an overnight DT, that's when I use the Kinky Curly poo. No problems washing out the coconut oil. And i sleep on a satin pillowcase. Curls are still nicely defined on 2nd day just very dry. Would be nice to find some type of spray, either commercial or DIY, to moisturize curls on 2nd day, without frizzing.

I am thinking too, when all my color processed gets cut off, natural hair will nit be so dry. My gray/white hair may not be the most attractive look, but my natural hair is not wiry as many grays are. But i am going for a little bit longer length than my current avi so cut off will be slow and gradual.
Just wanted to bump this up, still looking for help.
How does your second day hair react if you mist it with water? Does it like the spray, or frizz up? You might try mixing a little of your one condition or kckt with some water in a spray bottle, and see if your curls respond well to that.

Very frizzy if i spray with water only. One C does not mix with water, stays clumpy. I will try the KCKT. i dont mind getting something else to go in the water spray if anybody has a suggestion that wont weigh down my hair.

Sorry for the double post.
I have the same problem with spraying and also when I scrunch a bit to help with curl reforming I get the most frizz.

If misting the water with product also gives you frizz, you can maybe rub a drop on your wet hands and nicely run it down your tips or scrunch them.

I have a question about 2nd hair, how do you shorties (bobs and less) manage to wake up with good hair? because my hair has no wieigh, when i wake up its all UP in some parts and flat in others, and all messy. And since im low porosity (I think) i really need to absolutely soak it for some minutes so it gets soft and can go back to a normal position.
(in winter is fine because i wear a hat, and my hair up + hat flattening makes my hair look good and with volume)

Id like to wet my hair less now that im actually low pooing and cowashing and it last longer clean, how do you do it? satin bonet/scarf, etc?
I would suggest mixing distilled water (which is sterile) with conditioner 3:1 in a plant mister bottle (not a regular spray bottle, from which the droplets are too big and heavy), and using that to mist your hair on days you don't wash it. I find that helps considerably in replenishing the moisture (water) and oils lost on my pillow and clothing over the last 24 hours or so.

Also, if you're not scrunching a wee bit of conditioner back into your ends after rinsing out, it would help to do so.

My hair is hopeless if I try to mist it with a regular spray bottle. It just overwhelms it, so the curl droops instead of refreshing, and then it frizzes. The trick for me is not to get it too wet. It takes a while for the moisture to be absorbed, and for me the trick is to walk away from the mirror. It looks like heck, and then it doesn't; but if I stay in front of the mirror, I get tempted to do something more, and that's always when things go wrong, very wrong.

Trying to refresh next day hair generally results in even more frizz and stringy looking hair when I try. The only time I've managed is if I use a really fine mist (which is why I spend the money for Ouidad's Botanical Boost - it sprays the perfect amount) and then bunch my hair into a plastic shower cap for 10-15 min. I do a very minimal scrunch before putting on the cap, as my hair just can't take scrunching unless its soaking wet. A little time and not touching it makes all the difference. When I take off the cap and shake out my hair sometimes I get nicely refreshed curls, but it's hit or miss. I have better luck scrunching in a tiny amount of LI just on the ends after I wash, but I avoid that as I'm also easily weighed down. Adding product on non wash days generally doesn't work for me but a light mist and a 10 min shower cap sauna sometimes does the trick.

That's why it's important to use a plant mister bottle, not an ordinary spray bottle. Since I started using water and conditioner 3:1 in a spray bottle, I just mist my hair (and I have to get the understory first, because it has a weaker curl pattern, plus gets stretched out overnight), and let it be.

I have a spray bottle with a misting option that is filled with distilled water, has a few drops of lavender oil (sometimes I add a bit of jojoba) and a water like LI. I have gone blank and can not remember the name right now. It is the Biolage dupe from Sally's. I do a light misting sometimes. Other times I do nothing. I really have not worked on my 2.5 day hair as much as I should. I often shower later in the day, on the day before I go to work. I'm good other than a touch of dryness at the ends (sometimes) when I wake up, and good when I go to bed. I am very dry and frizzle fried when I wake up the next day. I don't really have major frizz problem when I spray. I find that spraying and maybe a touch of product often makes my hair look hard or stiff (like a bad hairspray but not crunchy) or causes weird clumping issues. I also need to finger comb but I rarely seem to get it accomplished on my up at 5am days. As long as it doesn't look completely hideous, I leave it be. I have no problem looking tousled. I jump in the shower when I get home and start over.

Perhaps I will play around with it one day and be able to offer better suggestions. I tried sealing but still have not found the perfect oil for my hair. It takes a lot to over load it but some were too heavy while others had no results what so ever. *I have not tried again since I got past the non stop frizzy phases though. I had a few at first.

As for the bob question, I always woke up with crazy hair when it was short.

I did by one product at Sally's, 2 years ago maybe, that I played around with a few times when the crown of my hair was trying to float off my head for well over a month. Nothing was helping at that point. I eventually broke down and put some cones in it and then shampooed and started over. Recently I have been spraying it in my hair after I get out of the shower. It is Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Hold & Shine Moisture Mist. It has Coconut & Neem Oil, Silk Proteins, Sage Leaf, Honeysuckle, etc. I am in love with it and plan on trying it on the second day soon. I will let you know how that goes. Regardless, it does pretty good with helping me get a bit of shine. I always have some natural frizz, even when using cones, that does not bother me at all so I can't comment on that. It's my hair texture and I feel weird without it. I can just say I don't have excessive frizz at this point and it helps my hair stay more manageable.

The only thing that works for me is to actually soak hair in water and then add condish. But I ditto on good condition on wash day. I dunno if it is because I have coarse and high porosity hair.

I had a lot of frizz when I tried just misting with water. After some trial and error, I found that if I sprayed it down pretty heavily with water (so fairly wet but not soaking), and then raked through it with a bit of light conditioner mixed with water, the curls would clump back up fairly well with a minimum of frizz. Something about smoothing the water/conditioner through with my fingers works better than just letting the droplets sit there. I can get good 2nd and 3rd day hair that way, and even passable 4th day if need be.

3a/b, F, normal porosity

Wash with either Suave Tropical Coconut, As I Am, or CJ Daily Fix
Condition with STC or Yes to Blueberries and detangle with Denman, rinse very lightly (baptismal rinse)
Add LAL gel, either Sport or Wet Look, scrunch with flour sack towel, and plop
Diffuse 5 minutes, then air dry
I bought some 100% Argan Oil today. Im also going to get a plant mister and use distilled water and a little conditioner (not One C). Hopefully one of those two ootions will help. Thank you guys for your suggestions.
I lightly spray my hair with a conditioner and water mixture. I then apply a quarter size amount of Knot Today to each side and let air dry. Then I SOTC and use a pick for lift.

I can only do this for 2 days, after that I need to co-wash.
