Beach no-no?

Sooo it's been hot enough to enjoy the beach here in Miami since like March and I'm finally ready. I can't think of a better day to hit South Beach than my first Mother's Day!

Anywho, I am weary of certain ingredients and there reaction to salt water. I want to know if any of you've had problems with glycerin or styling gel.
I plan to put my conditioner and put my hair in a protective style but want to know about the gel because I still want to look cute lol.

Also, I want to hear from others what they do to there hair before the beach or pool, things that did or DIDNT work.

TIA😊
My hair is stretched right now, so tomorrow I'm going to put conditioner(vo5 ocean refresh) and grapeseed oil on and do faux hawk with the ends tucked and a pompadour in the front. Is that good enough?
My experience with the ocean + hair products, is that it all just washes out. Salt is a natural cleanser and is going to take product out of the hair as far as I believe. Depending on how much swimming you'll do your hairstyle might just come out (if pinned). Usually when swimming I braid my hair and bring a bandana or big stretched band and call it a day. Adding leave ins or oil to the hair do help prevent it getting dried out from the salt. Also I like to throw on a big floppy beach hat most days to avoid my hair getting too much heat from the sun.

Have fun!
