LEAST favorite thing about your curly or wavy hair?
Mine has gotta be the fact that I just can't get it to look the same from one day to the next. Some days I have great curl formation and lots of body. Some days I have very flat hair or very frizzy hair, even though I took the exact same steps as I did on the great hair days!

Ditto. That's why I'm glad I have the option of easily blow-drying it straight.

Other. I hate that I can't play with/ touch my hair. And I hate that I have to restyle it everyday if I want it to look nice. No 2nd day curls here. ::sigh::

I would actually have said all of the above. My hair is every one of those things. But, I think that Aya said it best. That's pretty much what irks me about my hair the most.

I voted that it always looks slightly messy, mostly when it starts to get long, because the curl starts to get pulled out by the weight and it looks like it can't decide if it is straight or curly. It doesn't get wavy and nice until it is REALLY long and I can't go through that growing out period. So, I have to pretty much stick to shoulder length to not look messy.

Re: LEAST favorite thing about your curly or wavy hair?
That's what I picked. My hair doesn't care if I'm just lying around the house or going to a wedding; it behaves when and where it wants to. I end up clipping it up a lot, especially in the summer.

Cant play with your hair? Curls are the most fun hair to play with!! I am boinging my curls all day long. So amusing. Stright haired people can only run their hands through their hair. I have been told by countless people that is is a lot of fun to idly play with my hair.

Mine has to be the amount of time it takes to style. I can't blow-dry right out of the shower, because it gives me frizz. I have to wait 2 hours, diffuse for a few minutes, then wait another half an hour until it's completely dry to scrunch in my pomade and hairspray. All I want is wash and go hair.

I agree. I find a nice fat curl and wind it around and around my finger.

Other. I hate the fact that the front is 3a/b (sometimes thinks it's 2b) and the back is 3c! Makes it look like 2 different heads of hair in pictures. Why can't it all be the same???
I've got a handle on the frizz, shrinkage, etc. It doesn't bother me that it doesn't always look the same day to day (adds variety). It's just the inconsistency of the curls!

I voted for "slightly messy" because I hate that I never think I look as polished as I could. I don't know if that is a product of being curly, fine or both. Except for the frizz - my hair does not frizz when it is healthy - it is really all of the above.

The frizz, and the fact that I have to plan my hair style round the weather. There's not point in wearing my down in the rain or wind. By the time I get to my destination i resemble a frizzy poodle.

Other - how friggin long it takes to get my hair suitable for public viewing! Once I'm out in the world the curls are fun, but O how I envy straight-haired girls in the morning hours!

Disparaging straighties who think curly hair is easy to take care of and/or make look presentable. It has taken me my entire life to learn how to deal with it.

Alright, let me rephrase. I can twirl the occasional curl here and there. But honestly I want to be able to run my fingers through my hair or otherwise fuss with my hair. Twirling a well defined durable curl is one thing, but that's not all my hair. I worry about messing up my curls when Im doing something simple like putting my hair in a ponytail.
