Uncle Funky's Daughter Curly Magic (old formula) + dews vs. relative humidity

I had a bottle of this from last year and I just tried it yesterday. I kinda really really like it. I won't jump to conclusions just yet.

It helped to keep my hair pretty clumped even as I moved it around (as I like to do) and the result was soft and shiny. I really liked the result, and if I get consistent results I'll be really sad about the reformulation.

Although I am in a different climate now (desert). Dews were in the 60's yesterday but relative humidity at 25%. I don't quite understand why dews are more important than relative humidity. My hair seemed really well behaved... it just doesn't frizz when it's not super humid out. I still think there's a difference between dews in the 60s and 25% humidity and dews in the 60s and 80% humidity. I thought I saw another thread on this somewhere. What are your experiences?

What about UFDCM? Anyone try the new formulation and how does it compare to the old one?
fine - low/normal porosity - medium density - normal elasticity.

Currently using:
Cowash: Cure Care diluted with water 1:1
RO: Cure Care, V05 Kiwi Lime
Styler: UFD CM (old formula), FSG + CNPF
PT: IAgirl's gelatine

Experimenting with: no guar hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride, gelatin gel

Recent findings: my hair likes Cure Care diluted with water as a cowash; does NOT like guar h.c.!

It works very well for me no matter the season (no matter the temps or humidity levels). However, there are some ingredients in the new formulation that am not a fan of. I will eventually run out of the stock that I have and I have been waiting to hear feedback on the new formulation. As, I don't want to end up wasting my money. I have no reason why, these vendors change formulas towards a product on a whim, especially when the product is a best seller.

If anyone has any feedback on the new formulation, PLEASE SHARE!

Used it the second time and still excellent results!

My hair hasn't looked this fabulous in years. It is frizzless and looks like I took a curling iron to it from the back (I didn't I just applied ufdcm to soaking wet hair by squeezing it in, squeezed extra water with a cotton tshirt, and did a combination of airdry ing and drying with my soft hood bonnet.)

Really loving this product but I also know that the kind climate and possibly hard water too have been elements o the success. I think somehow everything is working together really well. I've been using the CJ shampoo to cleanse and V05 Kiwi Lime or CJ Repair Me for RO. No leave-in. Just the Uncle Funky's Dauhter.

I've been loving UFDCM for a few years now and I'm not at all impressed with the reformulation. I have only one bottle left. Thankfully there is KCCC with very similar ingredients to replace it...eventually.

I also top it off with a layer of BRHG for extra hold as I work in higher dew points and my hair is very porous.

KCCC has the same ingredients technically but didn't work for me. I like UFDCM much much better. I find it more gelatinous than KCCC and maybe that's why my hair liked it. Then again, I did try KCCC in very high dews... I dunno I might have to give it another try when the Curly Magic runs out, but I still feel they are different products.

So sad.

I do not know why UFDCM need a formula change anyways. As it is what helped to make them popular. It has been their top selling product for years.

Unfortunately, KCCC doesn't work for my hair at all. So, I can't use that as an alternative. If any one knows of another product that is similar to the old version of UFDCM, I would love to know.

Oh Crud. I'm so very sorry...I am not very articulate I realize now how my post came across and that's not what I meant to say. I meant to say that I wasn't impressed that they reformulated it. I have one bottle of the original formula left and I'm not even going to try the new one because of the heavy amount of glycerin.

Sorry for the false, negative review.

I'm wondering, should we start a petition for them to go back to the original formula???
The original formula can be found at hellocurly.com. Hello Curly Curl Stimulator is the original formula. Apparently, the UFD husband & wife team divorced and she started a new company with the original formula and he kept the UFD name with a new formula.
