Curly hair in Florida

Hi all. I have been living in Florida now for the past month.
I have noticed my hair is starting to feel very dry and almost straw-
like.
I'm guessing this has something to do with the hard water found in Florida.
Right now I am using Tresemme Naturals for my no-poo and conditioner.
Out of work at moment so can't afford many products
Any advice would be great

Hm. Which of the TN?

Have you tried using some as a leave-in?

There's a chance you may need to clarify!
fine - normal porosity*?- medium density - normal elasticity. Hard water. SoCal.
*Used to be low-porosity, but I lightened my hair 1-2 shades, so I may be normal-porosity now.

I lived in S. FL for 13 years and had to deal with the hard water doing CG for 8 years. You may have to clarify periodically with the "LemonAid" and do DTs at least 2x/month until the dryness goes away, just adding extra oil to your CO and leaving it on for 30 min. with your head covered with a plastic cap would do the trick. And if you feel the need for protein you can always get a box of Knox gelatin (about $1.49 +/-), from which you'll get a lot of applications. You can find the recipe here: Science-y Hair Blog: Gelatin Protein Treatment Recipe Update

Otherwise I'd get a chelating shampoo and try that (it removes minerals from your hair.)

Actually it is a bottle of the old version.
Soon to be empty though, so I will then
have to try the new stuff.
Tonite I did a clarify and deep treatment.
I'll keep this up and see if it helps
