question about post-partum shed

I am going through some extra shedding now six months after baby, but I have a question. I never noticed my temples/front hairline looking different or bald, but obviously I've lost a lot their, because NOW it looks funny because there are tons of baby hairs growing there (1/2 inch or so long) and since they don't go back into ponytails, and they come forward, it looks thinner there and looks like my hairline starts farther back. ANd I worry, are these new hairs that are going to grow?? Did they all shed because I never noticed when all of a sudden they all shed, and I looked bald?? I never did, but NOW, it looks funky. Did anyone notice this with their postpartum?? If it's gonna all grow then it's cool, but it's weird to see all these baby hairs without having noticed a mega loss on my temples/hairline, all of a sudden, it's like, where did these come from?

All that needed to happen is for some extra hairs to fall out each day for you not to notice until enough hairs were gone. But the good thing is that you're seeing short hairs there and not completely bald spots. If you'd been putting your hair up please stop as maybe the traction has been contributing to the shedding, just try to find a different way to wear your hair. Make sure to take a good supplement, either your same prenatal vitamins or one especially for hair and in no time you won't notice those spots anymore.
I remember asking my Hubby if he thought I had lost hair around my hairline and him telling I was being paranoid as he couldn't see any difference... Then the hair started growing in! I had lots and lots of fine baby hair around my temple... Two years on and you wouldn't notice any difference, the hair has come back and I even think that since switching to Plopping (rather than a heavy towel turban) my hairline is even thicker than I was before! 😊

So it definitely sounds like you guys experienced things similar to my situation, which is good. Now if I could improve my sleep, I only get like 5 hours a day, I don't want the little hairs to stop growing. The other thing, is I still keep shedding some, so I don't know if it is completely stopped.

One of my favorite things about being pregnant was that I didn't have hair constantly shedding! Then, to my horror, when my son was 6 months old, it began to shed like crazy. HUGE clumps every time I showered!
I had bald spots at the temples for a while. Then I had this stupid fringe around my whole hairline when it started growing back. But it DID grow back, so try not to worry too much!
It was a scary time, though!

thanks, even though I know it's normal, it's still comforting to know that others had these bald spots, like I'm seeing and a thinner hairline at front. What I don't like is that in some of these "bald spots" I see the hairs in that area more separated, and I don't see "PORES" to suggest that something is coming back in it's place. maybe some pores are invisible until the hair is back. I hope so!
