haircut suggestions? They botched it

Ok, so I had long hair...been growing it out for a while. Decided I like myself w/ shorter hair better.

I have 2b hair, high porosity, fine, medium density.

This is what i had:

I told her I wanted a lightly layered chin length bob. This is what I got:

NOT what I asked for at all. It isnt always bad...it occansionally looks good...like this day:

But these days are not frequent. The front was supposed to be a LOT longer. The top layer in general is cut way to short...so my curl pattern is basically lost.

Suggestions? I dont know if I should just let it grow and be annoyed for months, or cut it shorter. I orginally wanted a shorter cut, but didnt do it. I am not scared of a short cut, had a pixie for 10yrs.

Do you guys have any haircut suggestions that are shorter for my wave pattern??

I don't know what to say because I absolutely love it!!! I think you look gorgeous but I know you want advice regarding handling the cut. Does it take a long time to style? If not, I think its perfect but you have to be happy too.
I don't know what to say either, other than sorry, my opinion is you're wrong! I love that cut on you, and I think your hair does, too! Very pretty!
i agree with the others -- love the cut.
i don't think the layers are too short. with wavy and 3a hair our curl pattern starts after a certain length, so.... however, it looks nicely wavy to me in both photos.
i think she gave you sideswept front pieces which i like, but if that is not the look you wanted. it seems like you wanted the front to be the same length, not shorter. i'd bring a pic next time.

Thats a pretty cut! Actually hey thats my cut!

Im also a long 3a and bacame a 2 when went with that cut, and hey, so what? Ive been a proud wavy for the last 4 years.

I think it looks good in both pictures. Good thing of that cut is its short enough to not have to detangle, and long enough to be very feminine and fun. Bad thing is you need lots of trims to keep the shape, like every 2 months.

I say enjoy it! You look beautiful!
I did bring a picture...but the picture was someone w/ wavy hair...so I think she confused the bend in the curl pattern as shorter layers. I wanted the stuff around the face a LOT longer.

Like today I feel like I just looks goofy so I ended up pinning the front back.

ok...thanks. Since the front is SO much shorter than I was wanting, it has been a bit of a shock. I will give it more time....

I think the thing I am missing is that I dont feel like it is edgy enough. But maybe I need to get some fun playful hair pins/headbands/ect. My look tends to be very quirky and edgy and this cut makes me feel sweet and cute (so not my personality! lol!!)

Blueblood has the right attitude, haha. I think the cut really suits your face, too, but I get what you're saying about not being edgy enough. Play around with it and see if you can get it to suit your style a little more while you're waiting for it to grow out enough to be reshaped. But it really is cute on you!
3a/b, F, normal porosity

Wash with either Suave Tropical Coconut, As I Am, or CJ Daily Fix
Condition with STC or Yes to Blueberries and detangle with Denman, rinse very lightly (baptismal rinse)
Add LAL gel, either Sport or Wet Look, scrunch with flour sack towel, and plop
Diffuse 5 minutes, then air dry
I love the cut too, but I see what you mean about it not being edgy enough... I think it's in the bangs. Have you tried pinning them back? You could totally do some hairbands or barrettes or something too.

It's tricky sometimes to cut curly hair. At least the cut itself looks great, it could've been a lot worse
2c-3a - coarse - normal-high porosity - high density - growing out to donate

NP/LP: KMF Whenever Conditioner/ YTCucs
RO/LI: Sevi Pumpkin Seed DC / CJ Argan & Olive Oil, KCKT, YTBbs
DT: Coconut Oil + scalp massage
OIL/STYLER: SM Elixir / KCCC
COLOR: henna, amla & indigo
I love it as well! But I can understand the frustration. The same thing happened to me a few months back. It was definitely a lot shorter than I wanted, but I ended up loving it (it was something different).

3B, fine, normal porosity, high density, medium width and length
Conditioner: Tresemme Naturals
Co-Wash: As I Am Coconut Co-Wash
Leave in Products: As I Am Leave-In, SM Smoothie/Milk
Air Dry

Looking for new products and methods to try!
