Is this a normal hairline? :(

I'm extremely worried about the areas above my temples, they seem to be incredibly thin with only baby hairs there but I have no idea what's normal. I never have my hair pulled back tightly so I'm sure it is not traction alopecia. What does this mean.

Is this a normal hairline? :(-imageuploadedbycurltalk1408055871.725420.jpg

I went to the doctors for this half a year ago and she kind of dismissed it as nothing to worry about. Should I go back?

My hairline looks like that as well so I hope it's normal lol. I think it's just the natural shape of my hairline to taper in a bit at the temples because my son's does the same thing
Yeah, I just don't know if i'm being paranoid :s It looks more sparse because my hairs there are so light too. If I put it in a pony tail it wouldn't look abnormal, I just panicked when I pulled it back and saw it.

Welcome to the club...for me, it's genetic. All the women in my family have the receding hairline thing. I used to hate it, but now that I know that I have curly hair (that's right, I didn't know...I just thought it was a "poof factor") it rather makes sense in the grand scheme of things.
If your hairline has always been like that it's normal.

I've had thin hair for some time now and have become quite obsessed with looking at other people's hair, particularly hairlines and partings, and I've noticed that there's many types of normal hairlines. Yours looks fine to me.
3b in South Australia.
That particular area above my temples looks the same too!

Phew. Thanks everyone. It pretty much has always been like this so I guess it's normal.

I was going to ask if you could post a photo of the entire front arc of your hairline so we could gauge it as a whole, but so many people seem to have the same pattern that it doesn't seem worth it.

I am now going to go look in the mirror to see if mine does that, too.

Answer: a little bit. The baby hairs make it look thinner than the center.

Mine is like that too and it stressed me out when I put my hair up in a pineapple. I make sure it's never tied too tight.

I've seen many people with that sort of hairline, so I think it's normal and not anything to worry about.
twirlygranny and eveum like this.

I'm definitely a "curly" 2c. Sometimes curly and sometimes just wavy upper layer with a ringlety under layer. My hair has been thick and coarse since birth. Strawberry blonde in color that can and does change depending on the type and amount of light.

All in all, I'm happy with my hair type but almost for sure think yours is prettier.
