Curl Keeper, which ingredients make it so effective?

I find that when I use this stuff I have no frizz at all, just soft hair without a producty feel. I took it out yesterday and used it after not using it for a while, since I've been blowing my hair out more lately. It was humid and drizzling yesterday, and my hair looked amazing, no frizz to speak of. I didn't even put anything over it, just used it by itself. I was wondering what is in this that makes it so effective as the ingredients look to basic and it has glycerin which attracts moisture so you'd think it would have the opposite effect.

Ingredients are below. I am a wavy, medium porosity, 2B with a bit of 3a on some random strands. Fine but lots of it.

Ingredients: DI Water, PVP/VA Copolymer, Propylene Glycol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Laureth 23, Glycerin, DMDM Hydantoin, Fragrance, Polyquaternium 10.

Hair Type - medium to fine texture, high porosity, lots of it, type 2b/3a
Not sure. Do know lots of people use lube (KY mostly) as a replacement for this. So maybe there's something similar in that for you to look out for?

(And nope. I'm not joking lol)

CK has two strong humectants, glycerin and propylene glycol, which will help pull moisture into the hair in medium to high dews. The main film-former, PVP/VA Copolymer, is one that maintains its hold in both humid and dry conditions without flaking. PVP/VA Copolymer should help keep the humectants from pulling too much moisture in during humid weather and causing frizz.
