Shea Butter -- Love It!

So, I finally broke down and got some 100% natural shea butter and I'm already a convert. The first night, I took some of the shea butter and melted it in my microwave and then applied the oil to my scalp and hair.

Next day I co-washed with VO5 Strawberries & Cream, used some Burts Bee's Moisture Conditioner, GF C&S and a bit of Jessicurl CCSS and then just a dab of Tightly Wound. My hair was SO soft and the curls were very defined. I even got away with 2nd day hair which has NEVER happened!

Last night after an ACV rinse, I did a deep conditioner with the melted shea butter just mixed into conditioner and I have amazing hair today. I am so in love with this stuff! Even the frizzy back part of my hair seems softer and less frizzy!

Now I just gotta order that shea butter leave-in Greciancurls posted about, although my husband has been complaining that I have been "investing" a lot in my hair lately. lol

Oh, I've been having some frizz and lack of definition issues lately . . . perhaps Shea Butter is worth a shot.

I use Shea butter alot too, usually I put it in my hair before I subject it to chlorine (pool or hot tub) and my hair is always great the next day, very soft. Now that it's not so dry and cold here, I've found that Jojoba Oil is better, the shea seems to be a bit much. But I still love the Shea on my hands, which have NOT gotten over the winter dryness! And when I put it on my hands, I always run some through my hair too, just not as much as if I were treating my hair alone. Wonderful stuff, haven't tried it as a DT yet though, may do that next winter, if I remember.
Izzy, started CG in January after being bald for over a year!
Currently using Devacurl No-Poo, One-C, Angell, Set-it-Free. Weekly Jessicurl WDT. Lemon-aid every other week.
For me, I feel like the jojoba makes me frizzier and the shea gives me a less oily look, but my hair tends to be REALLY dry.

I'm sure someone's gone over this somewhere . . . but where did you purchase your shea butter?

I got mine at my local health food store. It's by NOW Personal Care. Next time, I think I'm going to try another kind and I also want to get that leave-in I mentioned to try it out.

Just wanted to add that today it's raining here and I just scrunched in a small dab of shea butter and my hair is looking lovely!

Love this stuff!

Wow! I have some shea butter and tried it in the shower under my condish. It was a little too much, or maybe I just applied too much.

I like your idea, CurlyQTPie, of scrunching a lil dab onto the hair after it's dry. I'm going to try that!
3B, with oodles and oodles of curly hair!
