Jersey Curlies - who cuts your hair?

Hi Everyone!
I joined this site a while ago and was starting on the right track to caring for my curls properly but then I became a mommy and my hair care kind of took a back seat. Not to mention, pregnancy just left my hair a dry frizzy mess so I gave up trying to make it behave. So I've basically been wearing my hair pulled back almost all the time for the past 2 years which has also caused a lot of breakage .
Well, I've decided to start caring for my hair the right way again and have been browsing and reading up on this site. I've been also experimenting with some new products and trying to find out what my hair likes and doesn't like. My poor wallet has taken such a hit!
I've also been experimenting with a modified CG routine and have already started to see some nice results in the health of my hair. I have Lorraines book from years ago but can't seem to find it since we've moved.
But, I also haven't had a decent cut in years and I know that unless I get a lot of my damaged ends cut off my hair won't look it's best. I'm afraid I have a case of triangle head going on and am in desperate need of some shaping and layering. Part of the reason I don't wear my hair down is because I feel I look like a big helmet head with no shape .
Like most curlies I dread, dread, dread getting my hair cut because I'm never happy with the results. I always feel like the stylist takes one look at my mass of curls and doesn't know what to do.
I've left many a salon very disappointed and just gone home to wash out my hair.
Anyway, I was wondering if any Jersey curlies out there can recommend a place they love.
I'm not too far from NY and sometimes wonder if I should just take the plunge and go to Devachan.

ditto to that! I'd say go at least once -- then if you like it, but don't want to keep going into the city, take plenty of photos and go to a Deva-trained stylist in the state. I know there are a bunch around!
Thanks for the responses ladies.
Gryant, I think mycurls are similar to yours as far as "curliness" if that's a word but mine are definitely not as healthy and shiny looking...yet.

I'm seriously considering just going to Devachan. Do you girls recommend any stylist in particular at Devachan? Or are they all pretty good? Do you recommend I bring pics of styles I like?
And do they make you use their products? I've looked at the ingredients of the Deva line in the product reviews and its seem a lot of them have oils. I've learned through trial and error that my hair just doesn't seem to like oils. Any products with oils leave me with major frizz . I found this out when I got my trial pack of Jessicurl products. I had very soft hair but a lot of frizz which is a shame because I really wanted them to work. My hairs also weird about glycerin. I have VERY temperamental curls!
Sorry for all the questions.

I would love to go to Devachan some day.

I go to a salon in Bedminster that I found on the salon finder on this website. The stylist does a great cut (wet) and is a wizard at diffusing -- I was amazed at how much curl she got into my 3a hair. The salon is not expensive (for NJ) and they were fine with using the products I brought along.
I just posted a rave for Laboratory Hair Studios in Morristown. The stylists are all Devachan trained. I went to Eric for cut/color and was thrilled.
Another popular stylist there is Val and she might be a good choice for you because your hair is a lot curlier than mine (I'm a 2C/3A mix). She was cutting someone with your hair type and did a great job.

BB- I drive past Morristown on my way to and from work so I may have to look into that salon as a possibility. Thanks!
Well, I definitely need a haircut, there's no avoiding it anymore. I just need to work up the nerve to go for it . I'm hoping to make a decision in the next couple of weeks.
Thanks ladies!
