Sodium Coco-Sulfate is a slightly less refined version of Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. It's at best slightly more gentle than SLS and should remove anything a sulfate shampoo would. Although technically a "sulfate free shampoo", I wouldn't necessarily consider it to be CG friendly either. Other than the sodium coco-sulfate, it's a nice shampoo, so I wouldn't chuck it. If you do find it to be too harsh, you can dilute it or save it for clarifying.
Yes to Cucumbers Color Care (round bottle) is the older formula with Sodium Coco-Sulfate. Yes To Cucumbers Color Protection (rounded rectangular bottle? definitely not a cylinder), is the newer formula. It has a couple of gentler surfactants (foaming /cleasing ingredients), along with Cocamidopropyl Betaine. The Cocamidopropyl Betaine will remove even non-water soluble silicones, and should remove all but very stubborn buildup (such as polyquats, which some find require a sulfate shampoo to remove).
