'Watery' gels?

Like Tree12Likes

I love my Ouidad so much BUT, considering the cost of shipping and the time it takes to ship it over to the UK, I'm wondering if there are some alternatives.

They don't need to necessarily be gels I can get on the ground – I'm happy to order online. Ouidad seems to be the only brand that is SUPER difficult to get online, so that's why I'm having issues.

It can't be a cream or jelly – it has to have that 'water-like' or serum consistency. My hair doesn't like creams and jellies don't enhance the curl as much. I get best hair with more liquidy gels.

Help me out ladies? What are your favourites?

I've started using Jessicurl Rockin' Ringlets and it's AWESOME! It has that watery consistency that you are talking about. I'm not sure how easy that is for you to get though. It's made of flax seed, I don't know how you feel about flax seed gels.

NP/LP: CJ Daily Fix, KMF Whenever Cond./ Giovanni TTTT
RO/LI: CJ Argan & Olive Oil, JC Too Shea / Aussie Moist

COLOR: henna, amla & indigo
: glycerin in high/low dews, polyquats, parabens
I'm also a fan of thinner gels (Ouidad Climate Control Gel is a summer HG). Besides Ouidad I also like Spiral Solutions Curl Enhancing Jelly (don't let the name fool you- it's a wonderfully thin consistency), GVP Liquid Sculpting Gel (bonus, this one smells yummy), Curl Keeper (very light hold, but high in glycerin like Climate Control Gel), Mop Top Anti-Frizz Light Hold Gel (the Medium hold gel has a slightly thicker consistency). You could possibly also consider Deva Ultra Defining Gel. It looks like a medium consistency gel, but it feels almost water-like when I scrunch into my hair, so I guess you could say it acts like a thinner gel even though it looks like a thicker gel.

I was going to mention the Spiral Solutions Curl Enhancing Jelly too, but I don't think you would like it - it doesn't provide much hold. I assume you like gels because they are a harder hold? It is great under a gel though, it gives a great curl boost.

@Amy I've always wanted to try Rockin' Ringlets, apparently it's great when used with Spiral Solutions?? I'm having a browse now!
And yeah I like gels because they give a nice hold and they seem to just accentuate my curls more. If I don't use a gel, frizz can be a bit of an issue!

Also, has anyone tried the Matrix Biolage Gelee? I've been having a look at that and it's got some great reviews so I'm very tempted to try!

It's the cheapest of the bunch (£11-£12) and has that liquid consistently and I can get it in a couple of days with free shipping. It seems to be the most promising, judging from reviews and such (and, I'll be honest, price too!).

Allie - if you go on Jessicurl's website, you can order a free sample before buying. I love that she does that! I had never thought to use it with the SS, I will have to try that now!

I still have a pretty sizable collection, but I generally don't let the stash go over about 40 products anymore. I honestly think it made it that much harder for me to find products I liked because there were just way too many options and variables.

I keep trying the biolage for some reason and I don't have luck personally. It seems drying to me and it can flake if you use too much (which I have a tendency to do!).
I've never tried the Ouidad gel but I'm tempted to try!! ☺️

I have some Ouidad Climate Control gel that I gave a shot from a swap. I only used it 2 or 3 times. The first time I used it I loved it, but the others I wasn't so sure. I'll have to give it a try again in the spring when it gets a bit warmer. The glycerin in it angers me, but whatevs.

You might see me sending it your way if it doesn't work out
