Lots of people like the gel! I know that it's curl enhancing, because I experimented a tiny bit of it on a piece of my straightened hair and it started to make wave.

Yep, plus the gel is CG, and (I think) maybe the mousse. The 'poo and condish are so not CG it's not even funny...cyclopentasiloxane. *shudder*

Blush, you're making me want it, and I JUST gave up a chance to go to the store and get it!

I've also been trying to change my routine around a little bit. I've been using all natural products for years, and Jessicurl since Nov...Last week I bought GF CnS, GF Cream-Gel and TT. I say *no* to the cream-gel(drying alcohol denat), but a big thumbs up to the TT. I'm not a gel person, but this seems to have a light, non-crunchy, healthy hold & gives major clumping. I will stay with Jessicurl, but rotate the CnS & TT in every so often. Happy experimenting !

use me: shake me, foam me, work me through wet hair. use a "finger" diffuser and low hair dryer heat. look but don't touch. touching your hair creates frizz.

Somebody at Clairol must have been lurking around here and taking notes - or their instructions writer is a curly, too!
yes! those are the exact few sentences that caught my eye and made me ask about this stuff in the first place!

thank all of you for your responses...i think i might try out the gel/mousse routine soon and see how it goes. only big problem i have with gels is that they (at least the ones i have used) leave my hair with very little body, and for a girl who is on the constant search for volume thats bad news!

i will let you guys know how it goes once i get a chance to experiment

You might also check out the Body Envy gel from the Herbal Essences line. It has more hold than Totally Twisted, and it might help with your quest for volume.

I've used and liked the Totally Twisted mousse. Not everyone does, but I did because I like more volume. I added some gel on top for hold because it's not real hold-y. I haven't been using it lately, though, because I've gotten some Joiwhip, and I'm in love with that stuff right now!

The tt shampoo contains laureth sulfate which I didn't realize until after I bought it. The result? My hair felt squeaky clean. It's not moisturizing enough at all. The condish is alright but I haven't read the curly book so I am sure there are ingredients that are offensive in that one too.

I lurk a lot, I change my hair color a lot. It's currently black and bsl when wet and beyond my shoulders still when dry.

Now I will stop procrastinating and get back to what I was supposed to be doing before I got on here.

Any questions?

The shampoo has sulfates, the conditioner has cones, and I didn't like the gel - but that's just my opinion. But I should know better than to use HE products - I'm never really impressed w/ them. A lot of people do like the gel, though it doesn't have much hold.

i bought/am playing around with the body envy gel (thanks for the suggestion suzenguide! ), and right now i am sitting with semi-wet hair and although it still has a little while to dry, so far i think i am really liking it! the hold feels good and frizz is MIA so far, but lets see if it pulls through once my hair is dry...fingers crossed

I've only tried the gel and it's been awhile since I did that. From what I remember, it didn't have enough hold for me.
