How to keep crown volume?

Is anyone able to keep volume/lift at the crown? I've been silicone and sulfate free for over 2 weeks and can't seem to keep any volume at the crown - which I desperately need with my chubby round face . The pic attached was taken this morning and I'm certain that by the end of the day my hair will be flat on top of my head again. Hard hold hairspray used to do it, but I can't find one that's not a no-no with curly girl method and other than volume, CG has been working beautifully for me. Help??

How about a little mousse at the crown and clipping?

I love your color and your glossy curls!! I agree with chupie, clipping may help.
2B/2C for the most part, dense, coarse, porous, NEVER SHINY!!!!
Currently shoulder length, growing it out but with bangs for my Frankenstein forehead
Gracefully going grey

Oh Chupie, I forgot to mention that clipping is what got me the height at the crown - thanks to your advice to someone else on this site while I was lurking! However, it doesn't seem to stay for more than an hour or two. I will definitely try mousse though, that will be a new one for me : )

I can never get crown volume either. Diffusing upside down helps, but it only lasts for so long.

I used to do root clipping, but I no longer do it because I'm tired of it. I just low-poo the roots when I wash when my hair looks flat. The suave mousse in my siggy (non-CG but I've got a way around it anyway) helps a lot in making my head looks fuller.

I've been doing CG for a few weeks and it's been working well, but I'm not opposed to modifying if it's going to make me look like I have a full head of thick voluminous (is that a word?) hair! Honestly, I've really been missing hard hold hairspray b/c that's what used to give me that volume. I've almost broken down and gotten some several times! Maybe I'll get the mousse instead

Have you tried a root volumising powder? I've never tried them but am quite tempted to see if they work.
