Thick Hair Probs!

Hi All!

Just wondering if any of you had any feedback on good barrettes, banana clips, etc for thick hair. It always seems like most of the large clips I see in Rite Aid and other drug stores are large for thin hair. I'd like to be able to up my hair accessory game but it's so hard!

Any tips are much appreciated!

I gave up on those kind of clips. I have snookie clips and sectioning clips for the rare times I wanna blow dry and flat iron my hair.

I just kind of accept the fact that all my clips will break eventually.

I bought a huge clip that was specifically for thick or lots of hair. One of the prongs broke off on the first use and I gave up. Now I just use lots of small clips in my hair instead.

I find hair slides work so much better than hair clips, I use them for most updos and they work a treat and securing my hair in place.

And if all else fails: bulldog clips are good, though I don't tend to use them.

I've gotten the "for thick hair" products only to have them break right away, too. I've had a lot of luck for years with the large barrettes from this set, believe it or not. They seem to hold my hair very well. The smaller ones can be used to hold just a bit of hair back on the top or whatever; I don't normally use the little ones at all.

I'm definitely a "curly" 2c. Sometimes curly and sometimes just wavy upper layer with a ringlety under layer. My hair has been thick and coarse since birth. Strawberry blonde in color that can and does change depending on the type and amount of light.

All in all, I'm happy with my hair type but almost for sure think yours is prettier.
