So my hair is down to my back and I am ready for a change! Ive been really thinking about cutting it into a funky pixie cut, but I am very nervous that it won't turn out cute. I've decided to start back doing hair after taking a break for three years to take care of my son, so I really want to look more modern and not like a mom all the time. I have cut my hair before into a short bob so short hair doesn't scare me, but I have never gone that short before. Would love some input and I attached a picture of what I was kinda thing about doing. And my natural hair is a 3b!
Thanks everyone

That's such a cute cut! I wish I had the face for something like that.

If you do a chop, will you straighten it like that all the time? Or wear it short and curly?
2C/3A | MC/ii | normal-low porosity | very good elasticity
Summer, a couple of things to consider. How curly is your hair? If it doesn't have a very strong curl pattern and you do a pixie, it may not curl at all.

Also, if you have a round pixies look great. On a long or narrow face, pixes don't seem to work as well. I did a pixie years ago and with my rather long face I looked like a skull. It wasn't cute.

I love pixies on the right shape face - just be aware. Good luck - I hope you have the face shape that looks great with it!
2/b maybe 2/c. Coarse hair med. density.
Protein sensitive but can use occasionally
Highly porous. Color over grey.
Best 1st day method: Smasters!
Stylers: Mix Curls in a Bottle into everything for shine. Terrible pj
Sometimes try roller sets or use a curling brush - classic glamor.
Every day is a gift
you mentioned your natural hair is 3B, does that mean you have straightened it? if you do get a pixie make sure whoever cuts your hair is aware of your curl pattern and cuts it dry as it may end up shorter than you wanted.
i think a curly pixie would look great.
i had a pixie years ago and loved it, hated it. it was convenient, easy to care for, just needed cuts more frequently. i sometimes think that as i get older in the years to come, not now, i may go back to a modified, longer pixie simply for the ease.
i agree with taking your face shape into consideration.
if you decide to do it, post photos!

As a 3b with a pixie cut I cannot recommend it. It's fun for awhile until you start to grow it out... then it's a nightmare. This is just my humble opinion.

doesn't matter what your curl pattern is, growing out a pixie is not fun at all!

I have 2B/2C curls and I went pixie short three weeks ago. I don't have a lot of curl per se, but I have tons of body and wave and it's SOOOO much easier to care for. I was feeling like my hair was taking over my life! Not anymore. Also I feel like I have a pretty long narrow face, but I don't feel "horsey" at all with the shorter hair. I guess it's all a matter of personal preference.

2B/2C for the most part, dense, coarse, porous, NEVER SHINY!!!!
Loving my new pixie cut!
Gracefully going grey

If you have root curl it is going to be a pain trying to straighten something that short without some kind of chemical straightening. I had sort of a Chelsea haircut in my college days (punk hairstyle where everything is cut super short or even shaved except for the bangs. Would have rather done a Chelsea hawk but Mohawks and curly hair don't mix) and I had to keep it at the most 1/2 inch or so because any longer and it would look like a bunch of cow licks and would never lie flat. And then growing it out took forever and a day.
2c/3a with maybe a bit of 3b around my temples
Cowash-As I Am

RO-? Still searching for a good one

I LOVE the pixie cut on your, knitapeace! You look amazing!
You would probably have some curl being a 3b, but it would most likely turn very loose - like more of strong wave. I would suggest getting a "longer" short cut, and work your way shorter. Better to be safe than to cut it all off not knowing what your hair is going to do - it may stick out funny in some spots (that's what mine has a tendency to do). I've always had to straighten mine if it was any longer than 2" on my head.

Or just get it super duper short and you won't have to worry about anything. It is very liberating and takes your shower and getting ready time from a half hour to 10 minutes. But depending on your face shape, you might have to do extra to feel feminine - if you care about such things. I felt very.. not like a girl in mine. But I loved having it super short!
