I've started noticing a difference in my hair lately after I've been using the Deva products (specifically the DevaCare One Condition and Light Defining Gel). My hair feels a lot thicker than it used to, and I suspect a better word might just be stronger, but my first thought was just that it was certainly thicker.

Has anyone else experience this with their products, or is it maybe just my hair growing?

I've never heard of this before... I really wish I could help you! But I'm just as clueless as you are!

Hold on, second thought. Check your hair products, they may have protein in it. I'm remembering now, that had happened to me after I did a protein treatment. So that may be the culprit.

It's funny you say this because my mother said to me today, "Your hair is getting more coarse and thick by the day." My mom is an ex hair-stylist. I noticed that my hair is getting more coarse, as well.

I do know that there's a lot of protein in the Deva conditioner and gel. My hair doesn't seem to have a problem with the protein, so I just keep my eyes open on the off-chance that my hair suddenly dislikes protein. I don't really have a problem with my hair getting thicker; it's just surprising!

I'm sure that taking care of my hair is also a big factor. I think that properly moisturizing my hair and taking care of it is probably helping my hair and new hair growth as well. I've seen a lot more hair growing on my hairline, too. I think properly detangling my hair vs. just yanking a paddle-brush through it (I cringe thinking about my pre-CG detangling sessions) helps a lot.

But even with all of those above factors, I think Deva is playing a role. I'll let you know if I still see a huge rapid increase in coarseness/thickness after not using Deva. I'm going to use up on my conditioner then try some other brands. It'll be interesting to compare.

Rosemary is also known for hair growth and such...I use a mix of essential oils to try and make my thin spots grow out and rosemary is one of them so that may also add to the thickness factor.

Okay, cool! I did also switch from a paddle brush to just my fingers, with occasionally using a shower comb to help after using my fingers.

I should have mentioned there's rosemary extract in the Deva products...this is what happens when I post things pre-coffee.
