New Deva Decadence line..

Has anyone tried the new product, the low poo and the conditioner? I know there is a thread going about the styling cream....would like to see reviews...
I ordered both the day it was released and should have them on Tuesday. I'm pushing wash day back so I can try them.
4a / 3c fine texture, low and normal porosity
washing/cowashing, conditioning: devacurl one condition
no poo once a week with deva curl no poo
leave in: devacurl one condition or as i am
styling: curl maker or curly magic
sealants: oil rinse with Africa's Best Herbal Oil or Soultanicals Knot Dressing
I just tried these today. So far I like the conditioner a lot. It's got a bit more slip than the other versions. I'm on the fence about the No-Poo. I'm not sure it was cleansing enough for my hair, but I know my hair properties are very different from yours. I will say that they were not too heavy for my hair, which was my biggest concern.

I'm really curious about the No Poo. I have the regular and Care versions and they make my hair feel stripped.

here's a thought -- why doesn't deva list ALL the ingredients on their website? i always feel a company has something to hide when the don't fully disclose all the ingredients. to be honest i doubt i will purchase any of them (my hair hates the deva curl and care lines) just curious about the ingredients.

It's interesting. I follow many of the DevaCurl stylists from the flagship salon in NYC and the majority of people using this actually have much looser curls than what they said the product was intended for. I hope that doesn't mean it's just another product that won't work for tight curlies. They promised that this was a product solely for kinky/coilies (not that only they can use it, but that it was designed with their hair in mind). I'm not in that category, but I'm empathetic by nature and worry for everyone . This could be a good thing, though. My hair isn't kinky/coily but definitely needs the extra moisture this promises. I'm looking forward to their giveaway since my wallet currently is housing only dust bunnies.

I've never noticed that their site doesn't list all the ingredients. They don't have anything bad in them, though, because I check all labels before trying things. But that is interesting! It could just be because we all know the first 5 are what really matters, but all *should* be posted in the case of allergies and such.

I am so interested in this line. I want to try the no-poo and one conditioner counterparts. I currently just bought a 32 oz of the regular no-poo so I'm good for a while. This gives me the opportunity to wait for reviews and save some coins cause if @JunyJu's wallet is only holding dust bunnies, I'm a contending for the gold medal in the Broke Olympics.

I also love that there isn't wheat protein in the No Poo and One Condition though because I'm protein sensitive. Now, if only they could make some more protein and/or glycerin free stuff. I will consider trying the One Condition in Spring and Fall dews because of the glycerin. However, I might have to give the One Condition and No Poo from this line a chance eventually. I hope they make trial sizes of them both. I have yet to try the normal line though. -__- Ugh so many products to try and such little time and of course the college curly budget!

Even though, I had an allergic reaction to the original No Poo and One Condition... I really want to try the new line! Much to my surprise, my hair loves the new SuperCream. I had allergic reactions to almost everything made by Deva -- besides the Ultra Defining Gel. I was really surprised that this has given me consistent and great results with no allergy issues.

I don't know if I'll buy the No Poo -- but I definitely want to try out the conditioner. I just ran out of my usual RO conditioner. The product junkie in me strikes again! ;P

I do agree that I find it suspicious that DevaCurl is not always forthcoming with their product ingredients. It may just be me, but I'm irked that the new line is more money than the original DevaCurl or DevaCare products. I can't decide if it's more expensive due to the fact that it's new or that the products are geared towards African textured hair and or dry and coarse hair. It hasn't sat well with me.

I just tried the new no poo and one conditioner and I really like the one conditioner.

The no poo felt really light so I wasn't sure how well it was cleaning while I massaged it on my scalp. Then when I rinsed I felt how clean my hair was, but it felt a bit dry and tangled, but not to the extent the original and care no poo make my hair feel. It also left my hair with kind of a matte feeling too it... like some residue was left behind. I kept rinsing and rinsing and finally just went on to the one conditioner.

My hair really drank it up. It seems lighter than the original version... not as thick. At first I wasn't sure if I'd do much for me because I wasn't confident detangling with it, so I clipped my hair up, turned up the heat on the water and washed my body. I think the steam helped, because once I took my hair down my fingers slid right through tangles. My hair was SO soft. Like 30 minute deep conditioning soft. Really impressed. If this result is consistent I'm going back for the biggest bottle.

I didn't really rinse it out as much as heavily wet my hair to apply supercream and curl maker for extra hold. Plopped with my deva towel (got it free with my purchase of supercream) and have soft, defined, frizz free curls.

I was thinking the same. It's weird though because my hair does okay with rice protein and vegetable (Shea Moisture). I love eating quinoa but I do have to wonder what it will do to my hair lol. It might not be worth it for me in the long haul. I'd like to maybe try it one day though.

It's not just the amount of protein that matters. The structure is also important. Wheat protein is notoriously hit or miss, just like keratin and silk amino acids seem to be the least problematic. I haven't heard any specific issues with quinoa protein, but that could be because there are relatively few products that use it (compared to other types of protein).

I might have had issues with Mane and Tail too, but I can't remember exactly. That's true though because there is definitely a pattern with people that have protein issues. It could be that it's new as well. It might be worth a shot. I wonder when these new products will get to Ulta.

I was annoyed then also. The justification that I was given was that the product was so much more concentrated than the other stylers such that a little went a long way. I accepted that, but now I am really confused as to why the new decadence version of the styling cream (also geared towards tighter curls and also heavily marketed on the site to women of african decent) needs to be $4.00 more than the original styling cream. From tutorials I have seen from those who use the original styling cream, they do not seem to need significantly less of this new cream.

I love the DevaCurl line and I am usually really excited to try new stuff from them. I don't mind spending money on products I enjoy that are effective. But I want the extra dollars I spend to be because there is something quantitatively better about the product and not just that the company thinks it can get more from a particular demographic. I am still on the fence about trying the decadence line. I more than likely won't bother until after I see some head to head comparisons between the original line and the new line.
