Hey guys. Did a little review discussion about how I use the New Deva SuperCream with MopTop Curly Hair Custard. Great combo. You can see how much a "pump" of the Deva is and texture. Hope you enjoy it.

Great review!

I got a sample of the super cream and the mop top custard with my curl mart order that arrived yesterday. I tried the super cream and I have to say I like it. In my tropical climate, I avoid glycerin but the super cream held up rather nicely. I think it would be even better if I added a hard hold gel on top but I wanted to see how the cream did on its own. I was thinking about trying a little of the mop top custard sample by itself but its great to know it plays well with the super cream. It would be nice if the super cream wasn't so expensive!

Your hair is looking great with this combo! I'd saw the super cream and passed and passed up on the mop top before. I thought they'd be a bit heavy on my hair. But using the super cream just on the ends is a great idea. Knowing that it's like a lotion and spreads easily is useful to know; my hair loves products like that! And hearing that MT is lighter than KCCC and dries faster is tempting (KCCC was always too heavy for my hair). I just may have to cave in to my inner PJ now.

I have never used a curl cream and I cannot say why not; I just think they would be too heavy for my hair but I dont know why I think that. Would someone here be so kind as to post your thoughts about what kinds of hair most benefit from a curl cream, and what does it replace? gel? which gel? do you use it with your FSG or regular styling gel? I am not really eager to add another product to my routine...my hair does not do well with multiple products...
I think curl creams are in general less about crunch and more about moisture. They usually have a little something for hold but are not about being a gel type casting product. The more natural curl you have the more this is going to help because your hair would be drier.

This Deva SuperCream is pretty much the lightest feeling cream I've ever tried. It's quite original next to others I've tried. It's lighter than Camille Rose whipped Aloe Gel (which is really a cream) lighter than activators like Recoil and more lotiony. I don't know how they managed to combine "rich" AND "light" but they did.

I find a cream just a bit more moisturising in summer than gel. I apply the cream over CIAB or curl keeper, with a bit of L.P. Curl mousse over the top but mainly on the ends for extra hold ( I'm sure a bit of gel would also work fine). I also have CHS cream and Jane carter incredible curls. I'm waiting to try Deva cream, but it's been unavailable in the UK for about 3 months. The one and only retailer tells me they are waiting for a delivery due in 2 weeks, which will also include the new Decadance products (yay!) September is going to be expensive!
