I have used both as co washes. I still use the Trader Joe's version as a co wash. I love it. It's much cheaper, and I believe that it doesn't have glycerin. I think the Giovanni one does. I think they worked about the same for me, but you get a lot more conditioner for a much lower price with the Trader Joe's one.

Thanks, Curry Curls. As I said, I have lucked out at TJ Maxx and Marshalls, and have found litre bottles (33.5 oz) for about12.99, I believe, so that is a good deal. I just am not finding them now, and so it sounds like TJ's would be a good alternative.
Trader joe's TT Tingle i loved and still has the same main organic ingredients. I think all the Giovannni ones have been reformulated. The extracts are listed much later down the list and are negligible. I have tried the latest formulation of Direct leave in and Smooth as silk and hated both. They both had the new ingrdients on them. Dry,tangly build upy hair. I am guessing the Tea tree one has been refolrmulated too.
Before buying check iherb for ingredients . They always seem to have the latest ingredient lists. This site and drugstore are usually late.
