Hi gals and guys!! I'm a long time member who has been on hiatus. I've been generally happy with my CG results and my product selection so no need to lurk around in here anymore lol. But I do have a question about touching up curls with a wand/curling iron. Is this considered "cheating"??? As in showing a curl pattern that may be different/neater than what can be achieved with wet styling? I just got a wand myself and have touched up about a dozen fuzzy curls here and there the past few days. Especially second day hair. Love the results! I plan to continue doing it but not sure what to answer when people ask me if it's my real texture. My husband for example is convinced that my hair isn't curly and that I make it that way by putting in gel. Me using the wand to touch up straight bits further convinced him of this. So friggen annoying

I wouldn't consider it cheating, but then I don't think there's rules to the whole hair thing! All you're doing is tidying up a few wayward curls - who doesn't tidy their hair in some way? I'd say it was natural if people asked.
curlypearl and Marci like this.

Personally I don't like making my hair into what it isn't. I just let it fall where it falls.
I would completely keep doing this if it gets you great hair. The more days I can get out of one formal styling with just touch ups the better. I wish I knew how to use your method I get quite a bit of frizz and I don't think the wand can fix that.
Hair Type: 2C/3A, medium texture very porous also very thick and dry

I think you're right Starmie, plus thinking about it strangers asking me that is so incredibly rude! And Macher, I totally get that and I wish I could be as nonchalant about my hair. 3A hair has soo many textures and sometimes I want that hair model off duty thing. Once in a blue moon
And Catia_ it seems like you're new to the community, so before trying heat styling I would say keep playing around with products until you get consistently good results. That way you won't be depending on heat only and you'll be able to do tons more with your curls. It took me a good long while and dozens of products so hang in there
