questions about Paul Mitchell Conditioner

Medusahair kindly mailed me a sample of PM Conditioner and for the last 2 hair washes I have used it as a leave-in mixed with my normal gel - and had a wonderful experience! I even had 2nd day hair (and I'm a 2c, 3a maybe)!

The fact that this worked (I expected it to be too heavy) makes me think I should reconsider my hair-type. If I have coarse hair that curls better with this stuff as a leave-in, am I more of a 3a? Would GF's Curl & Shine leave-in work the same way?

Also, how does the Sally's Beauty generic version measure up to the original? Does anyone kow how much it costs at Sally's?

Thank you everyone for your input!

I have the knockoff from Sally's and the bottle has $3.99 and it's a big bottle!. I haven't tried the PM original, but have seen where those that have said it worked the same.

I don't use it alot, but it works great when I use Graham Webb Making Waves Gel with it. I should try it with other stuff!

I use GF CnS but have never compared it to The Conditioner - but I do think CnS is much creamier.

I'm a 2b/3a and sometimes I think even a 2c/3a depending on the weather. If you get curlier curls using some products, I would think it just means you're a mixture like most of us. Did that make sense ? When I go productless, or with just a leave-in, I'm a 2b .. with gel and diffusing, I go easily to a 3a.

You might also want to check out Sally's knockoff of PM's Potion #9 - it's good stuff, too.

Edited to change the price I thought it was. Once I got home and looked, it was only $3.99.

2b/3a and 3b on occasion!
Products: The hair aisle in my own cabinets.
Best definition winner: KCCC
Best volume winner: LOOB
I don't know what that means for what hair type you are. I'm confused about my own hair type. My hair is strands like threads mostly, the curlier stuff by my ears is real thin stranded though. I go by curl pattern myself.

That PM the conditioner is curl enhancing. It's surprisingly light in the hair even compared to the GF C&S although that's nice too.

I'm glad it's working for you!
2c/3a?
Low porosity, medium texture.

If it smells good put it in your hair, if it tastes good spit it out!
FYI, curly does not equal coarser. In fact, if you go by this site's definition, FINE curlier hair would be 3a; they specify the fine on the Curl411, I believe.

Coarseness has nothing to do with what your curl type is - go by how curly it is, and you may be a 2c/3a! HTH!
OMG, LOOK!!

...It's a siggie.
Good because curl pattern was what I go by. Someone said something about fine hair and I was ummm no it's pretty darn thick stranded. Thanks!

cmartin guess that solves that mystery huh?
