I have a few products with both humectants and anti-humectants in them at the same time. They will have shea butter or castor oil for anti-humectants but also glycerin for humectant. I get confused - which way are these products supposed to work?

Same with using products with just one or the other - say my conditioner has humectants, and then I top it with an anti-humectant product in a styler, which one is going to work better?
