Anyone use the B&A method of washing/application/styling

Ugghh, I just got my tracking number and mine won't be here until the 11th ....I guess that's what I get for living in IN.....I ordered it quite a few days ago.....that's over a week....I want it yesterday

Hmmm.. i've been considering going back to sulfates... even if its just for my scalp. Sorry to slightly go off the subject but does anyone else experience strange partings around the crown of their head since going CO? I can't quite explain it but the hair around my crown all wants to go in the wrong direct and you can see my scalp a little more than i'd like! Sometimes i do wonder if the CO thing is a conspiracy... LM has certainly made a lot of money out of it, sorry to be so cynical!

I'm going to try the brushing thing, although the girls in the vid all seem to have very strong curl patterns, not sure if my wimpy hair will take it!
i tried the brushing thing after i rinsed my conditioner, and you know what? i thought my hair was going to be covered in stringy curls, but no! it actually reclumped back up, and better then it did when i used a wide tooth comb.
yeah, i noticed that hair parting thing too. i think the way your hair clumps when it's got that conditioner and extra scalp oil makes it do that.
as for cg? my hair needs sulfates. i think it definately benefits some people's hair, but my hair wants to be clean. i can only condition wash for so long before my hair gets unhappy.

chelle,
the 11th?! where did you order from?! don't hair people understand when we want a new product we need it NOW!!!

Alright - I did the deed. I shampooed twice, and my hair felt very clean. I probably would only do it once the next time though. Then conditioned for probably 2-3 mins (I have long ole legs and it takes forever to shave those puppies). Then rinsed it out upside down. Brushed (very hesitantly, but my curls were still there). Added the gel, and used an old tshirt to get the drippies out. Usually I plop at this point, but today I went immediately to the dryer. My curls clumped better than normal, and I did notice some nice spirally curls.

Final result - about 50% better hair than I normally get. I have a small amount of frizz, but nothing to get crazy over. It looks good for me. I don't think I will EVER have the beautiful hair that some of you have as mine is thin, but I could be satisfied if it looked like this. I think I'll also plop for a bit next time. It's nice that I didn't have to use a gaggle of products. The gel is really very good, and the conditioner was good also. I'll try to take a picture today, but won't be able to post it until tonight. The real test will be if my co-worker says it looks good. She is my "hair reality check".

ohhhh...very promising! 50% better hair is pretty darned good!
did you rake the gel through your hair? or did you scrunch it in?
just curious.
can't wait to see pictures!
oh, and how long is your hair? and how much gel did you use?

I might need just a tad more, but so far so good (4 hrs and counting).

Remember, 50% better for me is going from barely ok to fairly decent. But alot better than it was 1 yr ago.

so? how's it working for everybody who has it?
i've been using the routine, and it works great! i scrunch with a tshirt before i add my styler, though, because i never really use much gel, and didn't want it to scrunch away.
i'm eager to hear how the products are holding up.

I've used the method the last 3 times I have washed. I have used various products for the first two stages (wash, condish) my favorite by far is low-poo since it feels so good to have bubbles to scrub with. I have consistantly brushed and used B&A gel (2.5 palmfuls). I have had so much volume and my curls spiral from the crown down. I am almost afraid to try a different gel because my hair has never looked so good. I am a 3A who would love to be a 3c or 4a so this increase in curls and volume is awesome for me! I'll let you know if I ever have the guts to try it with another gel. I finally understand why people like this stuff
Ok, now y'all have made me want to try this. I'll have to see how it works with a different shampoo & conditioner because I only have the gel. Unfortunately, the one and only time I tried the gel, my hair went almost totally straight. Seems that anything with poly-11 in it does this to me. Anybody know why? It's driving me nuts.

Sorry, I get excited when packages come..............even if they aren't mine, evidently.

If I'm Going To Have A Bad Hair Day, It Might As Well Be In Aruba!

This is all I've used now since Friday. So far so good. Yesterday I followed the same wash (but only one time not two), condition, brush and gel. But I plopped for a bit. Then, before I difused, I added a bit of Joiwhip to my roots and dried. My hair seemed a bit fluffy, but good. But then, I went outside, and the wind blew the heck out of my hair. BUT - once I got to work and was able to rearrange my head, I had the best looking hair. It was curled, full, bouncin and behavin! Two co-workers even said great hair day.

Today I have decent 2nd day hair. I wet my hands and put a bit of the gel on the ends. Some crunch, but not horrid. Maybe the start of a HG for me.

Yes, I got my package....it was exciting, I love getting packages I of course opened it up immediately and jumped in the shower

I washed twice, con. for a minute, I did comb in the shower but forgot to brush when I got out. I just finger combed the gel (two half dollar size puddles) through my hair, blotted with a towel and let it air dry. I have fairly straight/wavy/squiggly hair but it does feel soft and healthy. I can't say that I have any more curl but this *is* what my hair normally does when I air dry. I always have to go over it and add a few curls so it has more of a wavy/curly look.

How many of you girls who are having great luck with this are air drying? I think I will try diffusing just to see how my hair reacts.

It did feel good to use shampoo with some bubbles and my hair doesn't feel dry from it, I do remember that when I used the conditioner a long time ago that I thought is was heavy for my hair, mine is fine and what curl I have is very easily disrupted.

I'll report back when I play with this more.....

I always comb my hair in the shower after I condition before I rinse, if not I have horrible tangles. I even comb my gel thru and I think my hair clumps better but it needs to be soaking wet to scrunch the curl back in. So I think the brushing thing may work.

Oh sure, the moment we get started on one trend, something new pops up!

I've been dying to try B&A for years b/c I LOVE the long haired girls hair (not sure which one it is). I've always been skeptical about the protein though.

Now, do they mean to shampoo like this DAILY? B/c even hairstylists who know nothing about CG will tell you to only shampoo every 3rd day or so. Did anyone read all the testimonials on their webpage? I'm totally interested, yet mildly irritated at the same time.

Please excuse any typos. For the time being, we are blaming it on my computer.
brushing definately helps with the clumping. when i comb i get stringy curls. the brushing seems to help my hair regroup better.
i get that weird baldspot thing on the back of my when i plop with my shorter hair. it drives me nuts. the front looks so good, then i look at the back of my head and WHA?! where'd the hair go?!

i'm dying to try this whole system...gotta wait to save up some money. i LOVED B&A gel before. it's fabulous, protein and all! my hair loves how light it is. it's like it springs up because it doesn't have the weight that other gels have. just enough to keep things organized.
i need a hair product sugar daddy!

I could see how the brushing could work - it would seem to replace the rinsing/apply products upside down. In the video she brushes the girls hair out upside down after she rinses, and then scrunches in the product. Did I get that right?

The brush I used today was a combination plastic and boar bristle. It seems like it would make it more stringy. Maybe you need to use a plastic bristle brush, or like a Denman.

However, once I put the conditioner in, it was nice and "slippery" again. And I love the gel also. I'm really hoping I found something that works on a consistent basis. I have so much stuff in the shower and bathroom (preaching to the choir on that one huh), I really need to find the one something I can stick to.

Dang it now I want all three products again.

I did try the brushing before putting in gel and my hair didn't lose curl and it clumped really really well and it cut out that frizz I get from the hairs not being with their group when the gel is put on.

Grecian it might be a conspiracy I say you go with what works.
Speaking of brushing and spirally hair, doesn't Jennyfurrens still brush hers? hers still curls beautifully
