I am trying to not use hairspray because of the drying alcohols. So I tried the spray gel. The L'oreal and GF spray gel. I know you are supposed to use it on wet hair. But I did try it on dry hair. Has anyone done this? At first it was okay but within hours my hair felt gummy. Does anyone have any idea's what they would substitute for a hairspray? I really need some sort of a finishing spray. Thanks.

I'm with you -- spray gels on dry hair are yuk!

Set it Free, from the Deva Line, is supposed to be a finishing spray and a lot of folks like it. Most people don't seem to spray it on, though. I think most folks squirt a few pumps in the palms and smooth it over their hair.

I have never been one to like hair spray, even when my hair was chemically straightened. I have never liked the feel of it.

I really like to use herbal essences set me up spray gel on my dry hair to refresh my curls second day. I think it works really well!!
