What do Ouidad products smell like? And do the different lines smell different? And does anyone have any good recommendations? I've wanted to try Ouidad for sometime and now that I'm in need of some new products I thought I'd give them a try.
It's been a long time since I have tried the Ouidad lines. I had tried the regular line and then the Curl Quencher line. I remember them smelling just kind of plain, reminded me of how a salon smelled.
I know that's not a very good description but they weren't strong smelling and they didn't smell like vanilla or like fruit/ citrus or lavender or anything like that.
Hopefully someone will come along that has used them more recently and they'll have a better answer!
2b/3a, primarily use Jessicurl and DevaCurl products, Curls Hair Tea conditioner and various gels. I'm modified CG-ish since 5/04.
Cloves...that's what the Tress FX smells like!
I just couldn't place it...
Not sure if this is much help, but today I used - after
just a rinse in the shower - the Tress FX. Then, when
my hair was almost dry, I hit it with her Botanical Boost,
which is light - you don't need much. I have yet to try
her other products. These two products, for today anyway,
seem to be keeping the frizz at bay, but it's still early here.
I always thought Tress FX smelled like the dentist's office! I don't know what's the matter with me, but I made my husband smell it and he thought so too. I haven't used any of their products in a long time though.
The DT!!! if you are willing to major splurge, i love the smell it smells like bumble and bumble deeep. I bought a little one when I got my hair cut at ouidad and ordered it before as well it is expensive. I actually won a fifty dollar bottle of about 5 months ago from a contest they were doing I just kept entering each week! it was the highlight of my curly hair experience so far, i never win anything. I definitly recommend it, u don't have to use a lot and it works great. I also like the summer shield for a leave in it makes my hair soft I bought it when I got my hair cut at the ouidad salon in new york this fall, but i dont love the way it smells. The botanical boost I LOVE as a refresher much better than mister right which I have also tried but still use often bcuz i can get it at ulta. For their gels I think they are really nice it sets my curl nicely and they aren't producty If it were less expensive Id use them all the time. But they arent so gotta wait till i get some serious money in the bank.
I had really good results with Ouidad products for a few months and then they just quit working for me. I haven't used them for a little over a month now and was thinking of giving them another try. I never quit using the Leave-in (Balancing Rinse), I love it.
I used Ouidad's Clear & Gentle Poo and Balancing Rinse this morning with great results. I used Joiwhip instead of Tress FX and my curls turned out soft and defined. I still didn't pay attention to the scent. I guess it's not enough to make an impact on me.
Awww, put it on the swap board! There's always someone willing to trade for One C! You might want to experiment with something!! I think I might go get some Nature's Therapy Mega Moisture from Sally's...argh, the pj never quits!
Cowash - No Poo, Suave Coconut
Conditioner - One Condition
Leave In - KCKT
Gel - KCCC at the moment
Leliani42 I agree with you the Balancing Rinse smells apple-ish. I used to use the Clear & Gentle and the Tress FX. I remember them smelling very mild and pleasant smelling. Unfortunately, recently due to overprocessing my hair and causing major damage, I switched to the Curl Quencher shampoo and conditioner. The Curl Quencher shampoo and conditioner are also a mild scent. I also use the Deep Treatment and it smells cherry-ish. The combination of using the Curl Quencher products and the Deep Treatment I have noticed improvement with my curly hair.
