Default Dandruff what to use on CG

My daughter has dandruff or a flaky scalp. She has used Head and Shoulders on and off. It does seem to work. Her hair is between a 2B or 3A. What products would be good for her for this problem? I am trying to convince her to do CG too. But she is worried about not using dandruff shampoo. It really bothers her. Thanks.

You can either add tea tree oil to a shampoo, condish, leave in spray or use it sparingly directly on the scalp. A little goes a long way so be careful. Also there are usually several varieties of products at healthfood stores like Trader Joes, Wild Oats etc. You just have to experiment just like with CG. I know a couple of folks that actually found that they would rather add the oil to a condish that they already use because they can control the quantity themselves and save a little $$ than buying higher priced prods.

My college daughter and her best friend - both have ringlets all the way down their backs but tons of scalp problems - swear by the Peppermint & Tea Tree Shampoo from Iowa Soaps (halfway down this page - http://iasoaps.com/shampoo_bars.htm) with the occasional use of the prescription shampoo from the doctor.

I bought some of these bars for her a few Christmases ago, and she and BFF fell on them and have used them ever since.

I also use some of their other shampoo bars for a once in a while great clarifying but gentle clean, and their soap bars for the body are TDF.

I like Neutrogena T-Sal 'poo (no sulfates), Giovanni Triple Tea Tree Treat 'poo and/or co, and American Crew Daily Co. All of these make my scalp happy when it gets cranky. My bro has moderately bad dandruff + super curls and the T-Sal works well for him too.

You can get the T-Sal at most drugstores, the Giovanni at health food stores (Whole Foods, Earth Fare, Greenlife, etc) and the American Crew stuff at salons, Ulta, Trade Secret, and many drugstores (in the professional hair care section).

Thanks everybody. I'm going to run to the store to look for these products. My daughter will be so happy.
