Default Too slippery?

Last week I went to get my haircut and I asked my hairdresser what sort of condition she thought my hair was in. She replied that my hair is too slippery and explained that I must be using a conditioner that is coating the hair but not penetrating it. I am using Suave Citrus Smoothie as a conditioner, and I bought it because of the good reviews on this website several years ago. I thought slippery hair was good?

The last cut I got professionally, I was told my hair was too soft and then she proceeded to scrub the heck out of it with shampoo even though I had asked her not to! :x

Just ignore the comment and go with what works for you hair!

what your hairdresser is describing sounds like the classic (sili)cone condition, but Suave Citrus Smoothie is CG.
your hair, it's slippery but is it soft?

I lurk a lot, I change my hair color a lot. It's currently black and bsl when wet and beyond my shoulders still when dry.

Now I will stop procrastinating and get back to what I was supposed to be doing before I got on here.

Any questions?

Let's think about this critically: too slippery...as compared to...what. The word "too" connotes excess, but if she doesn't really say how the hair SHOULD be in order to make a comparison, then I would disregard it.

The real question to me is how does your hair do every day? Is it limp? Greasy? Dry? frizzy? Is it easy to style, and does it hold it's style well? If it looks good to you, and appears healthy, then there again I would disregard the comment. She sees your hair for maybe an hour every four to six weeks? Not really enough time IMO for her to make a good judgment. JMO though!

Hi girls,
My hairdresser did not give me an "ideal" to compare my current hair to--all she said was it shouldn't be as slippery My hair is soft and most days it does well--it is not greasy, limp, or dry. For the most part I am happy with my hair. I was just curious as to what you all would say. You all seem to know more about curly hair than most hairdressers do!

I blame suave, it is not moisturizing, it coats the hair, I prefer VO5 kiwi and lime as my co wash, it really gets my hair clean.
