Default Aura

I just bought Aura flaxseed gel at a local beauty store. I had heard it mentioned here a few times and figured for $3 I couldnt go wrong.
Lately my hebe hasnt been giving me consistant results so i thought i would try the aura tomorrow morning. So, I was wondering, does anybody have any tips for using it?
Tia

Same exact situation here! Bought it Monday b/c BE has been quitting on me lately too. Did you use it this AM? I haven't used it yet, but I'm interested to see the replies.

Yupp I did use it this morning...
and I got TWO compliments on my hair in 20 minutes!
It was slightly crunchy but super easy to scrunch out and gave me tons of volume. The only downside to it is that now that its 4 o clock and Ive been around all day, my hair has drooped a bit and its slightly frizzy. But, this probably has to do with my playing with my hair all day as well.
Overall, this aura gel is worth it
Post results if you try it!

Yay! I'll try it tomorrow. Hopefully I get good results too. How much did you use in comparison to BE?

BTW- Love your hair, it's so shiny & smooth! I'm jealous.

Would anyone mind posting the ingredients list on this? I'm super curious about flax seed. This is available at Sally's, right? I'm probably making a trip there soon so I might have to check it out.

Aww thanks :] Your hair is looking good itself!
I used about double my hebe amount of the aura, but only because its more runny and not as thick as the be.

Thanks!

I tried it today. 1T of Aloeba as leave in with 2 peas of re:coil with 2 palmfuls of AuraFSA scrunched over it. Medium hold & minimal crunch- I didn't really have to scrunch. My hair's really soft & shiny! Not much in the way of clumping but I don't think I used enough- probably used a little less than BE. I'll try double the amount tomorrow. I have some fluff in some spots but that could be from the monsoon we're having.

I have to see how the day progresses for the final determination. It's only been a few hours & so far I like it alot! (please don't let that be the kiss of death... )

oh I like the ingredients! Some of those are in the gel I'm loving right now and this one is way cheaper! I'm going to have to check this out. I've only tried the hypoallergenic one.

How's your hair growing in from that cut?

Yeah, I'm also wondering how it compares to the Aveda flax seed gel?

Its raining alot here too.
But yeahh i didnt get any super clumpage either, but the shininess and softness and volume make up for it
Let us know how it holds up and how it is tomorrow.

This stuff held up pretty well yesterday-- I ended up puffy by 8pm but I figured that would happen- not enough gel goes that way for me. It rinsed out super easy this morning.

Today I used 4 puddles & my hair has less ringlets & volume than usual. But.....the good new is I don't have ANY frizz (a day for the record books) & it's so shiny, I'm truly amazed.

I used Giovanni Direct Leave-in for the first time today too so, I don't know which is causing what. I know it's stupid to try two new products on one day but, I ran out of Aloeba & had to use something so there it is.

I'm going to continue to experiment with this-- maybe mixing with BE to get the best of both. It has the potential to be an HG so i'm not giving up. Tomorrow I'll try using a bit less to see how it goes.

Hmmm... the nonoxynol 15 concerns me a bit. I know I'm sensitive to nonoxynol 9 so I wonder if I'd have a problem w/ the 15.

Glad to hear it unique, I'll watch for the new pics!

Tina it might be the Giovanni Direct. It's lovely stuff for soft hair but it elongates my curls and pulls some curl out. I get more spirals on the hair that doesn't usually spiral but my hair that always spirals only have them on the ends. Something in there is too much for my hair on the whole. It sure makes it soft and shiny though.

Ya know, when i posted the ingredients I was like what the heck?? A spermicide?! So I Google searched it-- results say it's a nonionic surfactant.
I'm sensitive to nonoxynol 9 too, but haven't had any reactions the two times I used it. I'm also not using Aura in the same sensitive place as products with nonoxynol 9 so that might be why.

ETA---I think I may cry.... www.zotos.com (the site on the bottle) doesn't have this product line listed any more. So I checked the Sally website & the flaxseed aloe sculpting gel is listed in the discontinued section.

I got 2nd day hair for the first time in months today too. Once it's dry, my hair can't be touched up with water, condish or product without turning into a major frizz ball so 2nd day routine for me is un-pineapple & go.

Why is it everytime I find something that works, they discontinue it!?!?! Zero Frizz did the same thing to me which is how I wound up finding NC.com & decided to go CG.

Sorry, my rant is done.

Ok I am gonna go look for it at my local Sallys, and stock up, it seems to have great reviews, and I don't want to mess out on it. Wish me luck.
