Frizz or Crunch??

I have realized that I prefer my hair to be slightly frizzy than to be crunchy. I like my hair soft and touchable and just don't like the way crunch looks. So, if that means I have to have a little frizz, so be it!

curlyamzippity 04-20-2004 03:47 PM

I agree!! :D :D

I hate crunch, but it doesn't bother me if I can scrunch it out. But I HAVE to be able to do that.

ETA: I also HATE how crunch looks. I like the soft look and the soft feel.

Bobbin 04-20-2004 04:03 PM

Id rather have crunch but thats probably cos my hairs naturally really frizzy. If its sticky or tangled i cant take that but at the moment id rather have crunch even if i cant scrunch it out I actually want crunch to get rid of the frizzies. im sick to death of frizz :x. (just some personal issues with my hair lol)

prettypolly 04-20-2004 04:05 PM

I think I prefer crunch, but yeah it has to be able to be scrunched out!

Frizz just makes me mad

Gracie1353 04-20-2004 04:09 PM

Frizz is my arch enemy! Is it wierd that I kinda like my hair to have a teeny bit of crunch?

SixFootRealtor 04-20-2004 04:48 PM

My hair was really crunchy today because I totally airdried. I couldn't stand it! The curls were defined but looked like they'd been coated in oil. I scrunched it out and figured that's better, even if it does make the top layer a little fuzzy.

On a perfect day I'd like neither! Wouldn't that be nice
Most of the time I have a bit of frizz, so I voted frizz. Don't like crunch - I always scrunch it out competely.. well not scrunch, but smooth my hands over it like I'm doing a ponytail, then headbang.

CurliLocks 04-20-2004 05:19 PM

I voted for crunch. I don't mind a little that I can scrunch out (NOT the Ouidad wet look!), but I don't like frizz.

I'd rather have soft frizz than crunchy frizz. I don't want my hair to feel like it's encased in a layer of shellac. I saw someone the other day with perfectly formed curls but when she moved her head, her shoulder-length hair did not swing. It moved as one piece as she turned her head to the side. I don't want my hair to do that. No, I'll take the frizz.

That's how I decided I liked frizz compared to crunch. A girl I worked with last summer had really defined curls but she used a TON of gel and hairspray and her hair literally did not move. I decided then that frizz would be much more preferred to the "I'm wearing a helmet" look.

Bit of frizz is better than crunch in my book. I hate the wet look that comes with crunch. A bit of frizz looks more natural.

starina 04-22-2004 10:17 AM

I'd rather have a little crunch (little is the key word) than frizz. I hate the fuzzy look that I've spent all my life battling! IMO a little crunch doesn't look as bad as a little frizz, so I'll go with the crunch!

I'm recently a lite frizz convert. I've stopped using gel because I couldn't stand how it felt anymore. I must give my regards to gel though...without which I may still be trying to straighten my hair.

I'm with you, bethanyrenee. I kind of admire the hippy-ish, frizzy and product free curls look. It's not for me.....but I admire it. And I find I don't even admire perfect hair on celebrities if it looks like it has crunch. I expect that most celebrity hair has crunch, whether it looks that way or not, but that's another story.

I can't leave my hair alone when it has crunch until there's none left.

Somehow yesterday, my hair ended up a little sticky so there wasn't much frizz, but with no crunch, but not sticky enough to make my hands sticky after I played with it. I kind of liked that....

I HATE crunch but I really LOATHE visible crunch! That is just the worst. I grudginly picked "frizzy" because I aim to have neither. That's is why I own silicone spray.

I call it the " bohemian look" Although w/Jessicurl I have little of either. woo hoo!!

laurabeth33 04-23-2004 06:15 AM

For me, I'm always afraid my wavy hair will look messy, and that little voice in my head (thanks to my parents) will try and convince me to go brush my hair (and go straight, not brush and be curly).

A little frizz looks messier on me than a little crunch. The key words are "a little." I'm not going to use any product that gives me lots of frizz or crunch. But if the choices were a little of one or the other, I'd rather have a little crunch (like someone said, it can be scrunched out) for support like a underwire in a bra than a little frizz that makes it look like my hair is messy.

It's probably just my own self-perception that makes me weak, but that's where I stand.

bethanyrenee, I love the bohemian look with curls, and I'm a lot more forgiving with frizz on a curlier head than mine. I could see your point there.

Cortni 04-23-2004 07:14 AM

I vote for a little frizz because it seems like I get more compliments on the days when I think my hair has a little frizz than when it's a tad crunchy. ??? Apparently it looks silky, which is good with me - I've never heard that about my hair before. :)
