Edited: Should I get this haircut?

Maybe I was mistaken. I was thinking you had 2, maybe 3a hair. If that's your hair w/out product, then you seem to have more curl than that. 3a to b, I'd say. Lots of beautiful curls!

Thanks!
Seems so to me. But then I classify myself as 3b with some 3c and a mixed in, not too much curlier than yours.

Liz, are you good with colors? If so, please check out my kitchen paint thread (if you haven't already) and give my your thoughts:

I just read/saw the post, for the first time.

Oh boy. I'm only used to finding paint colors for tiny things!

So I probably should have saved you some trouble & refused to answer your thread?
I love your long locks. But, I'll say go for layers, long ones, to get the hang of them, if your hair is all one length, layers will be a different experience. You can always go back and get shorter layers at a later date.
2b/3a.
The weird thing is, the picture was found under the title "Hairstyles for Long Hair Long Hair With Layers Hairstyles" & when I saved it to my computer, it saved as "longlayered2". I found it here: http://www.longhairlovers.com/long_l...airstyles.html

So maybe it is long layers after all. *SHRUG*

I've had long layers before & my stylist always cut them starting at the jaw. When I did a search today I found one site that gave two different areas for starting them at; jaw & bottom of ear.

I'm confused.
I wouldn't go much above jaw when dry. I have some up around the ears but I have multi-layers, not long ones. Start longer and you can always add more later, if needed. See how your hair reacts. Better than trying to grow them out if too short.

ETA: and thanks for your opinions on the paint thread. It's good to have lots of them!
