Default Edited: Should I get this haircut?

Edited: See my post with my pictures & post asking what I should do.

Is this haircut medium layers?

I edited because I don't think it's long layers. I believe my stylist always said they started around jaw length.

I like it, whatever it's called, as this is basically the style my hair was in the early 90s. It fit my face so well & gave my hair volume that it desperately needs!

I think it's medium, but then I can't see the back. Either she has face framing layers or medium. The hair that flips out at the sides looks medium.

Long layers if I understand it right is just a few layers at the bottom.

totally off the subject, but her lipstick drives me nuts. It looks almost purple on my monitor.

OH yeah the lipstick is purple.

Yeah some medium layers and bit of face framing will give some volume and some nice curls around the face.

I'm always torn between more spirals and more volume. Why can't it be both?

Well, I don't have straight hair either, but what curl I can get from a bottle ends up falling out as the day wears on, or on different days without styler it might not be there.

If I can shrink down a pic to show you the similarity between the cut & "curls" on her & me, I'll post it.

Gee .. I, uh .. kinda like the purple lipstick . Just kidding ... as much as I love anything purple, that's a bit much. Although .. the more I look at it, the less weird it looks ...

Something is wrong with the scanner part of my scanner/copier/fax/printer. I have to do a bunch of troubleshooting, maybe a software reinstall, so this may take some time.

ETA1: I had to uninstall & reinstall all software.

This is how my hair looked in approximately 1993, with PM Conditioning Foam & blown dry, without a diffuser, I think.

ETA2: I can obtain bluish-purplish lips just by using Burt's Bees Lifeguard lip balm!

ETA3: This is my current naked hair, with long layers growing out & left to air-dry.

BUMP

So, I need to know if you all think I should get my hair cut in medium layers.

I think my hair is way too ugly hanging limp in long growing out layers.

I think you should go for it! It would create more overall volume if that's what you're looking for.

Yes...get the haircut...but please don't do the poofy-at-the-top thing you did in 1993.

Yeah, I think you could easily carry off that haircut. If you do it you'll have to post some more pics!

That was a mistake to begin with 'cause I hadn't got a trim in a while & my layers were growing out. I freaked that it was going to look awful, but didn't know what else to do! It was, yet it wasn't, done on purpose.

LOL...don't explain. We all had HIGH hair in 1993. I know I sure did. Curly hair was great in the 80's and early 90's...we didn't have to tease to get our hair high...a brushing was enough.

I love your hair, I like the haircut (the lipstick tho' ... I'm skeert!) and the bangs from the 90s make me downright nostalgic!

I say go for it!

I wish you didn't explain the poof, as I had exactly the same hair in 93, but brown! If DH had his way, I'd still have that hairstyle.

I'd go for the cut. I think it would work well with your curl (you have more curl than you let on here) but add some fullness and shape. And be sure to post pics if you do it!

I do?

When I took the "naked" picture I used the new Aussie Moist that morning so clumping may have factored in. I know there are a lot of spirals to it.

It certainly does need some shape & volume. When it wants to do nothing but cling to my head from roots to approximately temple/eyes most days or lower (bottom of ears) other days, I shudder.

Well, I didn't know if the cut on the gal was 90s or not, since her bangs aren't straight & short like mine in the old picture I posted. Her bangs are long & side swept, which I don't think was popular, or even thought of, then. I had to label the cut to a certain decade when purple lipstick was shown & because the cut was similar to my old one, though updated!

No, I won't do colors other than neutral/natural in the earth tone category, mostly browns & tans; lips, eyes & cheeks. I've been that way since failing at blue eyeshadow in the 80s!

~~~
ETA: I saved the "purple-lips picture" to my computer & changed it to black & white. It looks so much better now!
