I just happened to come across this thread this morning when I was searching my history for products I used to use. It cracks me up because when I went out at lunch today my hair was bugging me. I'm trying to let my layers grow out so sometimes they hang in my face. I pulled my hair back with a clip. When I came back from lunch the same coworker discussed above said, "You clipped your hair back." LOL!

LOL. Stating the obvious still? I would probably say. "Gee, you know? Thanks for reminding me, I am having short term memory issues. Is that what that is in my head?"

I think it's her way of letting me know she doesn't like it. This morning she came in and said you're wearing a headband. I wasn't sure I heard her correctly so I asked her what she said. She said, "I said you have your hair pulled back." LOL!

She used to say, "I can smell you." One day I started saying it to her. She doesn't say it anymore.

I think someone has passive-aggressive issues. I would be embarrassed to tell anyone I could smell them (farting children aside, haha)--what a really odd thing to say. Saying "Your lotion smells nice" or something like that is one thing, but "I can smell you" is a little...serial killerish.

She sounds socially awkward to say the least, do you need to know she doesn't like it, does she think you actually care? I'd start saying, "oh you are wearing shoes today" or something equally nonsensical.

she could be socially awkward or passive-agressive. does she seem nasty or just 'off?'
either case, i'd just smile at her and say nothing. if she is socially awkward, you're not going to 'cure' her, and if she's nasty, don't stoop to her level.

Oh man, I used to work with someone like this. Trust me, her subtext is, "I am secretly judging you in ways you cannot possibly understand."

I feel like there are people who say whatever they are thinking, regardless of how it makes the person they say it to feel. In my opinion, you should just keep doing what makes you happy and what you like. She should get a life.

I'm very sensitive and I always try to interpret the hidden meaning behind someone's comment. What a waste of precious time. Life is short and I am learning to really be who I am and not listen to jerks.

And yes, now that I read this whole thread, I want a snood as well.

I can't believe I started this thread in 2007 and she is still pulling the same stuff. You'd think I'd be over it by now, lol. Time to toughen up!

Trust me, there are some people that are just mean, they know they are mean and they really don't care. I personally think they are insecure or have other problems and get their kicks out of making others feel bad. I have worked with a few also, as it sounds like many others on this thread have. I would probably still be hurt too. That's the way I am. But now, when someone hurts my feelings like that, I will think of you, and you can be my inspiration. We'll toughen up together then. How's that?
