Default Query for Pixiecurl-method users

Do you feel like the blowdryer is loud against your ear? I don't know if I'm being paranoid, but I feel like running the motor next to my ear makes my ears ring. Does anyone else feel like their blowdryer is really loud up close?

I'm probably not going to be doing the next-to-the-scalp thing, but I am wondering whether anyone else has these concerns.

I'm right there with ya! I have tinitus & the dryer makes my ears ring extra loud. I try to only diffuse when absolutely necessary.

Actually, if you were to have an ear infection, they actually recommend running a blow dryer on low near your ear, so I don't think it would do any damage to it.

Please excuse any typos. For the time being, we are blaming it on my computer.

I have Meniere's Disease, and because of it I am almost completely deaf in one ear. Loud noises on that side are bad, because they sound like someone is banging metal together really loud. I *think* that what can damage hearing permanently is persistent noise over a certain decibel, but am not sure. You might be able to do some research and see if you can find what the noise output is and compare it to what is a "safe" level and see what the results are.
I will say though, I have never been concerned with it, even with only one ear left. Hmm...perhaps I should check this out, too!

Babywavy, is the ear infection instruction to blow air into the ear canal on low, or to hold the motor near the ear on low (which I guess would rattle those little hairs in your ear canal)?
